Priyamani, who was introduced by Bharathiraja, recognized by Balumakendra and won recognition at National Level with the film ‘Paruthiveeran’, is coming back to Tamil cinema after a gap of ten years with the film “DR 56”.
Produced by Hari Hara Pictures, Pan India film “DR 56” will be made directly in Kannada and Tamil languages and dubbed in Telugu and Malayalam languages.
The film is produced in Tamil and Telugu by Sri Lakshmi Jyoti Creations by A.N. Published by Balaji. Praveen Reddy has written the story, screenplay and produced the film as well as playing the lead role. The music launch event of the movie directed by Rajesh Anand Leela took place in Chennai today.
Priyamani, the heroine of the film, spoke thus in the event..
“After ‘Charulatha’, I am very happy because ‘DR 56’ is my upcoming film in Tamil. I was surprised when the director told me this story. Because this is an actual, ongoing incident. When I asked if this could happen, the director showed me some photographs. After seeing it, I was horrified and said, “You took this picture as you said. It will definitely be a big success,” I said. The film turned out well as I expected.
There were two reasons why I acted in this story. One is a very important role for me. I play a CBI officer. Another reason is that the film also stars a dog. I like animals very much. Especially the dog is very dear. So I said OK as soon as I heard the story.
It is a film about a medical mafia gang. I have also acted in a fight scene. Praveen, who has written and produced this story and is debuting as an actor, has acted superbly. My best wishes to him. Praveen Reddy, the hero and producer of the film said-
“This is my first film. We decided to make this film only after Priyamani agreed to act. Perhaps if he had refused to act, this film would not have come out. This story is a collection of real incidents in our life. ‘DR 56’ means the hero of the film has to take a pill every 56 minutes. Only then will he be alive. Why is that? How? If you ask, you will understand it when you watch the film.”
When the film’s director Rajesh Anand Leela spoke:
“This story was written by Praveen. It is a universal subject. Since it was shot directly in Tamil and Kannada, it was challenging to alternate the same scenes. The fast-paced screenplay will keep the fans excited to see what happens next. My thanks to Praveen and Priyamani for giving me this opportunity.”
RD 56is released under the banner Sri Lakshmi Jyoti Creations. Balaji, spoke thus-
The film is very good. Especially the second half of the film is excellent. The debutant director and hero are as unknown as the first film. To that extent, they have done their contribution very well,” he said.
Directors Gaurav, Raghavan and Rajarajan also participated in the event and spoke.
Vikram Moore, who has worked as a stunt master for the films ‘KGF’ and ‘Gandhara’ and won the National Award, has given fight training for the film. ‘DR 56’ is releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam on December 9th 2022.
