Mercy Killing is the crux of the plot deliberating on the hardships faced by the community of elders!

The theme is woven around a devoted and dedicated son (Samudrakani) and his bedridden father (Kathir).

Palani (Samudrakani) works as a security at a Bank ATM doing night shifts! His spends most of the day nursing his dad Muthu (Kathir) who is unconscious since quite some time!

Kalai (Vasundra), the lady of the house works in a match box making unit and is constantly troubled by the supervisor.

They couple have a school-going daughter who is very much attached to her grandfather.

As the family suffers to make ends meet, problems crop up time and again.

Vembu (Aadukalam Murugadoss) is Palani’s close pal.

Suggestions pour in from several quarters to initiate the exit of Muthu but Palani is ‘dead’ against it!

At one stage, the inevitable is executed and the film ends on a heart-wrenching note.

The flashback portions showcase Muthu’s youthful days, the scenes interspersed well by the director.

His love for a low caste washer woman, Peichi (Katha Nandi) lands him up in troubled waters.

The past and the present blend so well that we feel with both the characters of the father and son.

Samudrakani exerts his class while Kathir is adequate.

Initially, it seems a bit difficult to accept Kathir as Samudrakani’s dad but as the story unfolds, it becomes acceptable.

Vasundra has done a neat job. The little girl playing their daughter too.

The film leaves a strong impact in the minds of the viewers even long after leaving the theatre.
