Drug addiction is a major problem in our society. Spreads easily to students. Drug awareness is generally very low among the general public and students. In order to create awareness about this, the police is doing many tasks. It is a pleasure to see that this short film competition went well. Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister Udayanidhi Stalin is happy to attend the function. My special thanks to him. Students should take drug awareness to everyone.

I also aspired to be a policeman when I was young but life took a different path for me but it’s great to have policemen in my close circle of friends. When I said that I want to create an awareness about drugs, I said that I can make a short film like this with Ramya madam. The commissioner was also interested and encouraged to do well. In that way more than 300 people sent their works for this short film competition. We have selected 3 images sent exclusively for drug awareness and are happy to reward them.

The anti-drug short film competition and comics launch event is going very well. Thanks to police friends and Chennai Metropolitan Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal, Additional Commissioner Anbu, Joint Commissioner of Police Ramya Bharti and Pawankumar Reddy IPS for running it so brilliantly. Mainly thanks to my film director friend Vignesh Sivan for choosing these films. I have attended a lot of screenings at Satyam theater but lately I don’t attend any screenings but this is an anti-drugs short film competition so I immediately agreed. My compliments to the police for this excellent anti-narcotics effort. Vignesh Sivan is the one who organized and directed the chess olympiad that the world saw last year. Kudos to Naam Rowdy who is coordinating this event here. A lot of false news is spread very easily through WhatsApp these days. Here on this platform I request students to share any message knowing its truth. These short films convey good news to people. Thanks to all the students who made it. I request the police to conduct more programs like this, thank you.
