Vikram returns with a bang, that too, after a sabbatical of about three years, transporting the audience to a world filled with thrills and action punctuated by unexpected twists and turns that keep the viewers guessing!
He looks as fit as a fiddle with his well-toned physique that obeys him like a slave obliging him to move about and perform to his heart’s content!
The suspense element hidden behind the real identity of the assassin who dons several avatars time and again to do what he wanted to do-kill!
It is only towards the concluding portions of the film’s latter half that the real identity is revealed that surprises the viewers!
The film is a tad too long with a running time that evidently exceeds three hours notwithstanding the fact that the span of attention of the audience at the theatres has reduced drastically to a barest minimum!
Vikram goes about his character(s) in multiple get-ups in a joyful manner and it is a treat to watch him stand out tall!
The film’s love-track and the choice of cast for those leave much to be desired and prove a definite distraction!
Meenakshi Govindarajan doubles up as a spectacle-wearing young student researching in recent assassinations and toes the line of the Interpol cop (Irfan Pathan, cutting a neat cameo!) as though she joins a travelling troupe!
A.R.Rahman’s music is good without being outstanding!
Roshan Mathews is the new villain on the block who is least impressive!
The complexity in the plot is at times baffling; so are the flashback sequences which are one too many!
There are certain similar looking patterns between the assassin and the hacker (are they both the same person or different persons is the key feature of the suspense element that remind us of some scenes from Dhoom 3 (2013, featuring Aamir Khan).
The film will appeal to the hard core fans of Chiyyan Vikram that would remind them of Shankar’s Anniyan (2005) in more than one way or the other!
