KR is gearing up to release Aayiram Porkaasugal’ in an innovative manner. A Vidharth, Saravanan, Arundhathi Nair starrer, the film is directed by Ravi Murukaiya.
KR has announced a “buy one get one free ticket!” offer for those who would like to watch the ‘first day first show’ of the lively comedy film ‘Aayiram Porkaasugal’. The cost of the free ticket will be borne by the distributor. The film will be released in theatres across Tamil Nadu through Red Giant Shenbagamoorthy on December 22, 2023.
KR said, “The first day first show opening of a film is what determines its fate. While big films are making huge collections, small budget films have suffered a lot in the last one year even though they have good stories. One of the reasons for this is that more films are released in a single week. Some people say small budget films should be made. But this is not the solution to the problem. We have to do something innovative to attract the audience to the theatres. I have introduced this scheme as a solution to this issue.”
*KR emphasises the need for more low budget films in Tamil Cinema. A staunch believer in the ideology that “there are no big budget films if low budget films didn’t exist.” He says, “It is nice to see big films coming and emerging as big hits, but the film industry will only remain healthy if low budget films are successful. It is noteworthy that today’s big actors and technicians started their journey with small films. Therefore, films made with smaller budgets are essential.”
Speaking further, he says, “I have a good relationship with exhibitors all over Tamil Nadu and they have lent their support towards the “ buy 1 get 1 free offer. I am sure the audience will enjoy ‘Aayiram Porkaasugal’ in the theatres. The film will satisfy all sections of the audience.”
George Maryan, Vetrivel Raja, Hello Kandhasamy, Pavunraj, Bharati Kannan, Semmalar Annam, Jintha and Raja have played important characters in this film. Jogan has composed the music, Banu Murugan has handled the cinematography, Ram-Sathiesh have taken care of editing and Ashok Raj choreographed the songs.
