The Great Indian Kitchen was one of the most notable movies at Mollywood during the Covid season which was widely acclaimed. That flick has now been remade in Tamil by director Kannan, an erstwhile deputy of Manirathnam.
Kannan has already proved his credentials as a versatile filmmaker both, through straight ventures as well as films that were remade from Bollywood to Kollywood as Delhi Belly and Jab We Met etc.
Here comes another bankrolled by Durgaram Chowdary and Neel Chowdary with R. Kannan at the helm of affairs!
Aiswarya Rajesh who has carved a niche for herself on the merit of very many character driven films that she has been doing since the days of her start has donned yet another powerful role here and by the shots showcased in the Trailer of the film, she has come up triumphs yet again!
Actor and Director, Rahul Ravindran plays her pair while Nandakumar plays her father in law!
In an exclusive Press Meet held, the film’s leading lady, Aiswarya Rajesh, the producers, director R.Kannan, cinematographer (Balasubramaniem) editor, Leo John Paul and composer, Jerry Silvester Vincent etc participated while Suhasini Manirathnam was the Chief Guest.
Aiswarya Rajesh mentioned in her speech that she was initially a bit reluctant to take up the project as it was remake and hence comparisons will be there. But the strength of the character that she was offered gave her the strength of mind to take it up!
Suhasini Manirathnam was full of praise for Kannan who had deputized Manirathnam and said that the moment he invited her, she immediately and instantly said yes. She added that the film championed the cause of all women who contribute to the ‘success story’ of their respective kitchens!
Actor Jagan presented the proceedings in a lively and humorous manner!
