Shoot of Stonebench Films’ ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ directed by Karthik Subbaraj wrapped up, mega film gearing up for grand Diwali 2023 release
It’s a wrap. After extensively filming in exciting locales, the shoot of ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ directed by Karthik Subbaraj has successfully been completed. The shoot of the film produced by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam of Stonebench Films and co-produced by Alankar Pandian of Invenio Origin was wrapped up in Chennai on Wednesday last and the movie’s lead actors Raghava Lawrence and S J Suryah were part of the final schedule.
Besides multiple interesting locations spread across Tamil Nadu and Kerala, huge sets were also erected to suit the situations in the movie. One such grand set was created at Thandikudi near Kodaikanal where some of the most important parts of the film was canned.
Producer Kaarthekeyen Santhanam said, “We are very happy that the final schedule of the film has been wrapped up successfully. We had fruitful and extensive shoot spread across many locations for this big project. We are eagerly looking forward for releasing ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ for Diwali this year.”
Director Karthik Subbaraj said, “The film is a creatively satisfying experience for all of us. We had shot ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ in some of the most interesting locations. The film has taken shape very well and we are now all set for the post-production works. I am sure we are going to present a very exciting experience to the audience. I sincerely thank my actors, technicians and all others who supported this huge project.”
The movie is an action gangster genre just like ‘Jigarthanda’ written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. National award winning cinematographer Tirru, who shares a great rapport with Karthik Subbaraj and worked together in films such as ‘Mercury’ and Superstar Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Petta’, is the Director of Photography for ‘Jigarthanda Double X’. Music for the movie is by Santhosh Narayanan who has scored for ‘Jigarthanda’ and has been part of most of Karthik’s earlier movies as well. Editing is by Shafiq Mohammed Ali, associate of Vivek Harshan who edited ‘Jigarthanda’ for which Vivek had won a National Award.
An action drama, ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ will be releasing in three languages including Tamil, Telugu and Hindi this Diwali. A prequel to the blockbuster ‘Jigarthanda’ (2014), ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ is one of the most anticipated films of the year.
The team of ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ is confident that the movie will be a trendsetter like Jigarthanda which was loaded with thrills and twists, a trait that all fans expect from a Karthik Subbaraj Film. Produced by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam and co-produced by Alankar Pandian, ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ will be releasing in three languages including Tamil, Telugu and Hindi for Diwali 2023.
