Rajkumar Hirani has come up with yet another heart warming tale about a subject matter that has rarely been touched upon, emerging triumphant both in terms of presenting it as well as extracting stellar performances from the principal cast!
King Khan looks good as a crusader of cause playing a soldier who places his passion for his country first and all other matters next!
Tapsee Pannu is good but could have done better while the other two actors playing crucial parts in the narration have executed themselves well.
Bomman Irani, almost a constant in the films of Rajkumar Irani just passes muster in a not so prominent role.
The title which refers to a journey wherein the destination is decided but not the route and the process to proceed to the destination like that a route followed by a donkey which reflects the haphazard manner in which it goes through the journey!
The theme is about a couple of people who want to migrate to England from a rural place in Punjab. Their efforts to obtain a proper Visa having failed, they take the Dunki route and the screenplay describes their risky journey!
After a long time, they want to return home but are denied permission but this time they take up a smarter route back home!
The film’s length could have been pruned a bit and it is significant to note that Rajkumar Hirani is the film’s editor too.
The film’s music and cinematography are both very supportive to the narration.
