Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu receives Perunthamizh Award in Malaysia

Malaysia Tamil Ilakkiya Kaappagam and Tamil Peraayam honour Vairamuthu with award and 1 lakh Ringgit for ‘Mahakavithai’

Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu’s recent work ‘Mahakavithai’ has been receiving great acclaim in Tamil Nadu and other parts of India. It is attracting global attention too.

The Malaysia Tamil Ilakkiya Kaappagam and the Tamil Peraayam jointly presented the ‘Perunthamizh Virudhu’ (Great Tamil award) and 1 lakh Ringgit to the epic work ‘Mahakavithai’ by Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu at a grand ceremony held in Malaysia today.

Tan Sri Dr. S.A. Vigneswaran presided over the event this evening in Kuala Lumpur in the presence of Datuk Sri M. Saravanan. Five experts who enjoyed reading the book ‘Mahakavithai’, which talks about the Panchabhoothas (five elements) in detail, delivered the greetings.

Datuk Sri Ifal, Chairman of the Islamic Education Committee spoke on water, Prof. Dr. Rajendran, Department of Indian Studies, University Malaya, talked about wind, Suluthan, University of Education faculty and Malaysian Tamil Writers Association President, Dr. Manonmana Devi Annamalai elaborated on fire. Dheiveegan Arumugam threw light on earth and the national president of the Malaysia Tamilneri Kazhagam Tamil Perundhagai Ira Thirumavalavan spoke in detail about sky. All of them highly praised the work of Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu.

In his acceptance speech, Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu expressed his sincere gratitude to the Malaysia Tamil Ilakkiya Kaappagam and Tamil Peraayam. He thanked all those who attended the event and gave greetings.
