KabilanVairamuthu’s Agol novel focusing on the politics of criminal inheritance was released in English

In 1920 at Perungamanallur near Madurai sixteen people sacrificed their lives fighting against the British Criminal Caste Act. Kapilanvairamuthu’s 2022 novel Aagol, based on that incident, has now been released in English. This book has been published by the famous publishing company Rupa. The Perungamanallur struggle of a hundred years ago is fully documented in the novel, which deals with modern day virtual technology, cyber security and mass robbery.
This novel written in Tamil by Kabilanvairamuthu has been translated into English by Meera Ravishankar.
Regarding this, Kabilanvairamuthu said, “Akol is not a creation. A journey. Glad it’s going from Tamil to English. I consider this novel as a work that everyone can face, beyond language, nation and culture. There is much more news to write in this field. For the past two years I have been engaged in research work for the second part of the novel Akol. I will start writing soon.
