Actor Sasikumar said,
I am the last one to join this film. After all the other stars in the film were selected, they called me last. Director Durai. Senthilkumar narrated the story. My friend Ira. Saravanan said, ‘I have heard the story of this film. It’s good. You can act’ he said. Is it good when the director finishes telling the story? Isn’t it? Didn’t even ask. Are you willing to act in it? Didn’t even ask. The producer visited with a plate of fruit sweets and gave an advance. At that point there were some doubts about the film. When you were thinking of asking the director about it, they told you that you are acting in this movie and took a picture with the crew and published it. Producer Kumar will I act in this film..! I will not act..! He has been suspicious. He was nervous that he would change his mind after hearing the story. The truth is that whether the story of this film is good or not, I have already decided to act in this film for my friend Suri.
Director Vetrimaran has promoted Suri as the protagonist. Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi have visited here for Suri’s development. All these people have come for Suri’s good heart.
They all wanted to do something for Suri. I had this thought too.
I had thought of working with Sundharapandian after the film. He will play the second lead role in the film.

Director Durai Senthilkumar said,
Director Vethimaran was my senior while working with director Balu Mahendra. I am the last helper. From that day till now, he treated me like a brother, provided all kinds of support, pointed out my shortcomings and traveled with me constantly. First of all I would like to express my gratitude to him.
After him, he got the opportunity to direct this film through the art director Durairaj. We shot for 73 days for this film. I would like to take this moment to thank Durairaj for being with me all the days and helping me shoot.
Producer Kumar- After gaining experience as a production executive, he became the producer of the film. After telling him the story, I told him that we can complete the shoot in one phase in 55 days. I told him a budget for it. He gave me a list of the actors to play in the film. Hearing that reminded me of the 55 days budget. Then he said let’s make the film big. Who composed the music for the film? When asked, Yuvan told Shankar Raja. I again reminded him that 55 days + budget. Again He said that He will make the creation great. He said that we will shoot separately to promote the film. Then, ‘Sir! When he said that he would do it himself for a film with big star actors, he said that our film is also a big film. He told me a budget more than what I told him throughout the film. A thousand people are needed especially for the intermission scene. I wanted at least seven hundred people. He brought a thousand people and cast them. Also, we planned to have an item song in the second part of the film and we also made a song for it. But it was not filmed. Once when the production executive came to the set, I explained this to him. Then he told me that the producer is telling me that the item song can be shot in a grand way with three actresses as the main dancers. Throughout the film, the producer kept increasing the budget of the film. I liked his wit. When the work of the film started, the director told me a budget but he had it in mind.
He has planned on a bigger scale. He took me and the film crew towards it bit by bit. Even now we are doing the music release of the movie online..! When I asked, he said no, we are holding a grand performance at Satyam Theatre. This is followed by the release of the film. I am confident that he will do it magnificently.
While shooting the fight scenes for the film, we leave the character of the hero in the wrong. They would have acted differently in the scenes. They act differently during fight scenes. Apart from that, the character of Sokan in this film is somehow… we have designed the fight scenes to suit him. We have created all the fight scenes as an extension of that character. I am thankful to Mahesh Mathew, Fight Training Director for this.
Vetrimaran sir advised to film the fight scenes well when the work of the film started. After all the work of the film was completed, the only thing he said while watching the film was that you have shot the fight scenes in the film very well.
I have directed five films so far and never thought of continuing to work with anyone. I hope to continue working with cinematographer Arthur Wilson after this film. I will explain the reason for this in detail in the coming stages.
The film has five heroines including Vadukkarasi. All have played compelling roles in this movie. Because that’s how the story goes.
I told the story to Samudhirakani over the phone. After hearing the story, he agreed to act. That’s when I got the energy he had in me. He is like water. The actor understands exactly what the director expects from any role he is given.
Unni Mukundan was the first positivity when the work of this film started. After writing the story of the film, the producer advised Unni Mukundan to be asked for this role. At that time the movie ‘Malikapuram’ was released and became a success. He listened to many stories and was waiting for a good story without acting. At that moment we met him. After hearing this story, he agreed to act. He is also acting again in Tamil twelve years after Dhanush’s ‘Seedan’. He also had a desire to act in Tamil. On the set he had the thirst of a tiger on the hunt.
There are two pillars to the story of this film. One of them is Sasikumar. The central point of the film is the character of Adi, which he plays. Will he play this role? Won’t you? We were hesitant. But he agreed for Suri’s friendship. If Unni Mukundan is a tiger on the set, Sasikumar is a lion on the hunt.
Suri is a hunter who has to escape from being caught between a lion and a tiger. I have created a benchmark for Vetrimaran Suri when starting the film. He warned you not to transgress it, nor to transgress Suri. So Suri worked hard with complete dedication throughout the shoot. And I understood Suri’s situation very well. He was in a position to run fast with a glass cage in hand and a goldfish in it. So we look at the picture and cut it neatly.
I am also an introvet. Yuvan Shankar Raja is also an introvet. So we didn’t talk much. However, his work in the film will be talked about a lot.
In some films we expect the story to be told from the perspective of all the characters. No chance for that. But in this movie the story will travel from the angles of all the characters. The story is like that. To each of the characters
This story can be seen from different angles. I think we have created it neatly in that way. I am also sharing some good things that I have learned in the gap of three years. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who worked for this. ” said.
Director Vetrimaran said,
There was hope that the film ‘Karuden’ would do well when director Durai Senthilkumar and actor Suri worked together.
Director Balu Mahendra was unwell during the shooting of ‘Adhu Oru Kanakaalam’. During the critical period, Balu stayed with Mahendra for 60 days and nursed him back to health. How did you do this to him then? I asked in surprise. ‘If this happens to our father in our house… what will we do?! That’s what I did here.’ This is Senthil. He is natural and amiable without creating any trouble on the sets.
I have met and talked to Suri only two or three times before the release of the film.
