Produced by 69 MM Film Company and directed by Rahul Kapali, ‘Bhatamariya Brahmmai’ starring debutant JD, Guru Somasundaram, John Vijay, Harish Uthman, Vinod Sagar, Jack Robinson, Vishwanth, Sai Priyanka Ruth, Divya Ganesh, Harish and others is all set to star. The press meet of the film was held in Chennai.
Lyricist Veronica, cinematographers Nanda & Praveen, music director K, actors Jack Robinson, Vinod Sagar, JT, Guru Somasundaram, actress Sai Priyanka Ruth were present in this meeting.
Lyricist Veronica said, “I am making my debut as a film lyricist in this film. I have written poetry as a poetess. I have written a lot of poems especially about Surrealism and Darkness. I have never had an opportunity to write songs for a film like this. This is the first time. This opportunity came through director Rahul Kabali. In the first meeting with the director… a murder convict character sees murder as art. He asked for a song in the background.
One of my cousins in town is rowdy. He is not alive now. They killed him. This incident from my childhood left a deep impression on me. I wondered what kind of impact the women faced due to this incident, are there any lyrics available from there..! I started thinking. This song is the song that came out of that. I had the pleasure of working with music director K. And I would like to continue working with this team. Thank you” he said.
Cinematographer Nanda said, “Rahul, the director of this film, and I are childhood friends. We designed the visuals for this film while writing the script. If we wanted a vintage look, we chose the lens, camera etc accordingly. We planned to display only what the screenplay required.. We have tried to display only that on the screen. We hope that fans and viewers will like this work. Support.” he said.
Cinematographer Praveen said, “The director and I are childhood friends. Even if the budget is fixed and then asked to write the screenplay, director Rahul Kabali will write more than that. The work of Payamarya Brahmai has come out well. All of you will like it. I wish director Rahul Kabali to become a great director. ” said.
Actor Jack Robinson said, “A lot of things can be said about this film. The shooting of the film was completed in 2022. The experience of working with this film crew was different and new. The way the director tells the story will be new. I feel a bit nervous while listening to it and acting. Can we act according to the director’s expectations..! As he hesitated. The director noticed this and encouraged him to act as if he could. They celebrated me like a brother on the set

Music director K said, “The story of the film is the reason why I agreed to work in this film. You will feel this when you see the songs and teaser of the film. This movie is different from the usual movies. We should support such experimental efforts. The film gave me an opportunity to experiment and the director and crew gave me complete freedom. Director Rahul Kabali is basically a painter. He has carved his painting experience into scenes in this film. This work is his honest.. genuine.. effort.
I just completed the music score for this film this morning. It has come out very well. I have enjoyed my work. I am thankful to director Rahul Kabali for giving me the opportunity to work in this film. I am currently composing music for other language films as well. ” said.
Actor Vishwanth said, “Director Rahul Kabali was the first person who called me for this movie after watching the movie Kabali. Called by phone. I went to his office. He is essentially an international painter. His office was colorfully filled with paintings. They read the script of the film. While reading it was clear that this is not a typical Tamil film. After reading, they did a small test shoot, which I naturally did. Director immediately
Rahul Kabali..I called you after seeing your performance in Kabali. In that film, you acted lively with the leader. He said that this character also needs a similar performance.
In this film, my character travels along with the main character named Jagadish. Who is playing the role of Jagadish? I asked. He said he is a talented actor. It was only after going to the shooting site that the talented actor came to be known as Guru Somasundaram. It was a joyous experience to work with an acting legend like him.
I usually get the scenes I’m acting okay in the first or second take. The shooting took place in a theater set up in Pondicherry for this film. The director cut after five and a half minutes of the first shot. After that I thought this shot was ok. Guru Somasundaram said he can shoot that scene again. The next take went to six and a half minutes. That too was not satisfactory. Again the next take.. this time it went up to eight minutes. Not satisfied. The next take also lasted for nine and a half minutes. Not satisfied with that either. After that the tag went on for fifteen minutes straight that evening. That was what satisfied the director. Guru Somasundaram and I have acted in a single take. I thank the director for this. The director has clearly planned the scenes to such an extent. When you see this on screen, it will be a new venture that has never been done in Tamil cinema. The film crew is carrying out this international standard effort
Let me share an interesting fact about director Rahul Kabali. He has so far traveled to seventeen countries on a two-wheeler. He has made this film with the experience he got around the world. I am glad to have been a part of this film which is beautifully made like a painting. ” said.
Actress Sai Priyanka Ruth said, “After one and a half years, I have acted in the movie ‘Phayamarya Brammai’ which will be released in theaters again. In between I have acted in films released on digital platforms. I am very happy. This movie was an unforgettable experience for me. They explained the story and character of this film in detail on the first day. The next day I went to the shooting site and came back after acting. But the film crew all behaved with generosity. Such new ventures are released after struggling through many hurdles. The film team should continue to do such new initiatives. Even more, I should be given a chance. ” said.
Actor Vinod Sagar said, “I am a sudden groom for the film Payamariya Brahmai. One night at eleven o’clock, a friend named Keerthi Vasan, who worked in the film ‘Ratchasan’, called and said that director Rahul Kabali wants to talk to you. After the director Rahul Kabali spoke, the shooting will start tomorrow morning. He said come straight to the shooting site. I also went to the set and met the director and accepted his offer.
All the actors who played in this movie are familiar to the fans. Skilled technical team has worked on it. There are a lot of long shots. Actors have been trained and acted in it. This film will give a new experience to the fans,” he said.
Actor JD said, “Director Rahul and I were involved in pre-production for a year before going to shoot for this film. Before that we made a short film. That too is an experimental attempt. It was there that Rahul and I met and became friends. After that we started discussing the stories. After that we talked about the movie ‘Phayamarya Brahmai’ and today we completed the movie. We made this film by thinking about what we can do together as a team..thinking about what our qualifications and skills are..what we can do within a story.
