First things first !
The brilliant camera angles of Djordje Stojiljkovic , the stunning cuts of Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao , the CG effects , and the mounting performances of the stellar cast uplift this spectacular production to enviable heights!
The theme is about the reincarnation of Lord Vishnu , the screenplay commencing at the end of the Kurukshetra War following which Aswathama opts to wreck vengeance on the Pandavas while the Lord interferes and puts him in place but not before the damage is done! Yet, the Lord curses him and when Aswathama seeks remedy, the Lord gives him a prominent role play at the advent of the Kalki era.
From then on, the movie drags a lot making the audience restless till about the interval block following which the plot thickens ,especially after the arrival of Big B!
Prabhas serves as an instrument of humor with accompaniment by veteran Brahmanandam (only a few frames) to no avail!
Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani do their parts effectively.
Kamal Hassan plays the antagonist but has very little screen time and could be expected to showcase himself more prominently in the film’s next part!
Santhosh Narayanan ‘ s music doesn’t create a flutter.
Kamal Hassan who runs an empire is desirous of further empowerment and in that connection looks out for the extraction of serum from pregnant women who are about to deliver.
Deepika Padukone is expecting a baby (expectedly Kalki Avatar of the Lord) and the antagonist tries to take her into his custody while Big B is the protector besides Prabhas who would do anything to earn a buck(unit ,here!)
The closing portions are satisfactory.
Rich in texture and effects…
