When producer M. Karthikesan talks about the movie ‘Lara’,

“When I was studying in the 90s, an incident happened in our area. There is a cross bridge between Karaikal and Akkarai Vattam. There is less traffic on it. It is scary to walk alone.
Surroundings are all agricultural lands.
A dead body of a woman was lying near the wooden bridge. The dead body of the woman was found in an unidentified mutilated state. Even though the police inquired a lot about it, it was very challenging for them not to get any clue. But people told a story that it was Innar and Innar’s wife. But they could not prove anything. I was surprised to hear that. I wonder how people tell themselves such fictions. The stories some told were surprising and interesting in ways no one had thought of.

When we talked about making a film, we wanted to shoot a different story. But then I remembered that incident somehow. It was as if the light had struck a trap in the mind. We thought about it right away. We decided to expand it and make it into a movie. That’s it
‘Lara’ movie. We have completed the shooting of the film as planned.

Here is one thing I have to mention as a producer. We have completed this film on schedule with the cooperation of the crew and the immense support of the cast. This alone is proof of the cooperation and hard work of this film crew.

I have to say that it was a pleasant surprise that the title look of the film was released by my respected actor Sathyaraj and that too on my birthday.

I am a big fan of Sathyaraj. I am extremely happy that Avare has released the first look of my film.

After seeing the first look of the film, he praised and congratulated him. That has become another strength of the film. The crew is full of new enthusiasm,” he says.

Manimurthy, the debutant director of the film, speaks.

“Since this story takes place in a coastal region, we shot in places like Cuddalore, Pondicherry, Karaikal, Pollachi and Coimbatore.

The shooting was done in four stages at different locations. While developing the story told by the producer and making the screenplay, we looked for various details to add strength and interest to the story. I stayed in Karaikal for several months and collected details about it. To know the technical details of this case, I went to the police station and talked to the inspector, sub-inspector and collected information. When does a criminal case confuse the police? At what points does the case slip away from investigation? In what circumstances does the case become a major challenge for the police? We got answers to all such questions. Technical reasons for that
