Court dismisses producer VA Durai’s case against director Bala
Directed by Bala, the movie ‘Pithamagan’ starring Vikram and Suriya was released in 2003. This film was produced by VA Durai on behalf of Evergreen. The film was a huge hit and won the actor Vikram the National Award for Best Actor. But producer VA Durai had been suing the court many years ago claiming that he had incurred losses in the production of this film and that director Bala should pay him 25 lakh rupees. He died last year due to ill health.
Since last year, the investigation of this case has been going on at a fast pace. In this situation, the court has dismissed the case filed by the producer VA Durai. Before the case was filed by producer VA Durai, director Bala had helped him a lot on several occasions. But it is surprising why the producer VA Durai took such a case against Bala without considering them.
Apart from that, in a case filed by S. Saravanan in the High Court that he should not use the title for the film ‘Vanangaan’, which is currently being directed by Bala and actor Arunvijay and produced by Suresh Kamatshi, the court dismissed his petition and gave a verdict allowing Bala to use the title Vanangaan.
In this situation, a fair judgment has been obtained in the case of producer V A Durai and also in favor of director Bala, which has brought joy to director Bala and his supporters.
