Resolutions passed in a rally held in Chennai the day before yesterday in association with Neelam Cultural Center against the assassination of Bahujan Samaj Party State President Armstrong.

  1. Conduct an honest trial in the assassination of BSP State President Armstrong and punish the real culprits. If the investigation is not on the right track, a special investigation commission should be set up under the chairmanship of a sitting High Court judge.
  2. It can be known through the latest investigation that crores of rupees have been circulated in this murder case. In this case, investigate the background of Arudra company fraud and the involvement of various party members in the assassination and bring out the truth.
  3. Provide proper protection to the Dalit leaders and activists of Tamil Nadu in an environment where there is no security for people like Armstrong, a political leader who is influential in the society and the state president of the National Party.
  4. Thiruvenkadam, one of the accused who surrendered in the murder case of Bahujan Samaj Party leader Amsterdam, was recently encountered by the police. We must trace the chain of command of those involved in the murderous misdeeds and ensure that all are brought to justice without prejudice. Government should stop encouraging police encounter.
  5. Politically assassinated President Armstrong has sued the media for defamatory news about him a few years ago and won a fair verdict, the court also fined those involved. Therefore, take appropriate legal action against journalists, political leaders and individuals who spread defamation of him in the media and social media after his death.
  6. A non-governmental committee of Dalit representatives and intellectuals should be set up to investigate the ongoing violence against Dalits in Tamil Nadu in recent years and appropriate action should be taken based on the report given by the committee.
  7. The Union Government should immediately set up a parliamentary committee to investigate the ongoing violence against Dalits in Tamil Nadu.
  8. After the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam came to power, the Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidian and Tribal Commission has been formed to eradicate atrocities and the laws have been prepared for it. However, there has been no notable change in the trials of rape cases. Actions should be taken to correct this and conduct the activities of the Commission firmly and quickly.
