R. Janarthanan will do the cinematography and SB Ahmed will do the editing. Om Prakash designed the stunts and Diana designed the dance sequences. K. Suresh Kumar, who has worked as an associate director, has also written the songs. Artist has taken care of the makeup work. Thangaraj is the production designer and Johnson is the public relations officer. Venkat Babu is working as designer.The music launch of the soon-to-be-released movie ‘Kuppan’ was held at Prasad Label, Chennai. Actor Tej Charan and producer Aswath along with the film crew participated in this.Speaking on the show, actor Muthuzhalar Samy said, “This is my first stage, sorry if I speak wrongly. I have acted in many films including ‘Kolisoda’, ’10 Ennadukkulla’, ‘Kadal’, ‘Kodiveeran’. But, in all the films, I am in different badass, so no one knows me well. It was Suresh Kumar, the co-director of this film, who discovered me as an actor. He took me to Charanraj sir and when he saw me, he said, OK, this person will be good for the role. I was surprised to hear that. He has acted in 600 films, has been in cinema for so many years and has directed some films, it was an honor to act with him. He applauded my performance during the shoot and I was happy to see that. He is an energetic man, works like fire, I have never seen an energetic man like him. I am honored to have acted in such a legendary film. Now I have done music, direction and story.Usually when I’m at home I take the dog and walk along the beach in the evening, sitting on a boat in a secluded spot and playing with the dog. I know a friend there, Kuppan. They call it Chinna Kuppan. Whenever I go, he comes and I talk to him. One day he came to me and regretfully said that you have been in cinema for 30 years, but you will not make a film about fishermen and their life. About the sea, he told us to picture the suffering of the fishermen.I thought about it all that night, thinking about what stories I could write about fishermen. At 12 o’clock there was a line, a fisherman boy, a Jain girl, vegetarian – non-vegetarian, what happens here, that’s ‘Kuppan’.Corona came when the story was ready, our pilot was traveling around Delhi for ten days and Mumbai for ten days then I said, stop traveling from town to town and my friend is in Hyderabad. I told him to go and take acting training, and he immediately went there. My friend told me that you are a pilot, don’t be a hero. Basanga can do whatever he asks. My eldest son said he wanted to be a hero so I made him a hero, he said he wanted to be a pilot so I became a pilot, my daughter said she wanted to be an interior designer and so I did. It is a father’s duty to fulfill what his children aspire to be, and that is what I did. A person who took acting training from my friend for three months, came back home, and when I saw him, I thought he would be perfect for our story. I told him to come to the office immediately. Before that we considered many people who could be cast as the hero, but nothing was set. When Dev came to the office, I said that he is the hero of our story, and Suresh immediately said OK. Immediately, I asked Suresh to narrate the story to Dev, and he liked it when he heard the story. This is how this movie started.From a young age, Dev used to do everything from dancing to singing, and then I thought that he would be my artistic successor. But the big boy became a hero, Ivan became a pilot. Today he is back as a hero. This is how Dev became a hero.We had to find a second hero for the film. Then a friend of mine,”My son wants to act in cinema, you should look at him, but he is a bit short,” he said. Then Sushmita came in when we started choosing the heroine and we signed her as she looked like a Jain girl to suit the story. Then through my friend I got a contract as a music composer for the film until I made my debut as a drummer. This is how the youth work throughout the film. The recently released movie Maharaja was good. Kamal sir’s Vikram was a huge success as an action film. Shankar invited me to act in Indian 2, but I couldn’t act due to calcite problem.
