Arunodhayam, Neethi, Naan Kudithukonde Iruppen are a few films the themes of which were woven around battles against liquor!Set against the contemporary backdrop of slum – politics, illicit liquor and power struggle, this flick bundled with all the elements of a commercial potboiler, makes a very strong statement against the drink evil through strongly conceived characters as the heroine who daringly opposes wine shops and those who run it.The track involving three school going boys who are lured by the bottle and their pathetic plight leave a strong impact in the minds of the viewers.Though the stockily built hero, appearing in the title role is found to be a little less in emoting, he compensates using his body language!Charles Vinod as the baddie is good. The climax sequence looks a bit dramatic but definitely creates a flutter! The stunt choreography is breathtaking! The thin line of love between Sala and the teacher has been meticulously handled. Not that after watching this flick, people will give up drinking but it certainly sets a stage as step 1!
