The recently released film ‘Lubber r Pandhu’ is produced by producer Laxman Kumar under Prince Pictures. Directed by debutant director Tamilarasan Pachamuthu, the film featured Harish Kalyan, Attakathi Dinesh, Swasika Vijay, Sanjana Krishnamurthy in lead roles, Bala Saravanan, Kali Venkat and others in lead roles. Sean Roldan composed the music for the film.
Director Tamilarasan Pachamuthu has told a beautiful love story through village cricket as a backdrop. Together, these two got a unanimous response from the fans and it became a huge hit. In this situation, as a way of thanking everyone related to the film including journalists and fans who supported the success of this film, the success meeting of this film was held yesterday evening at Green Park Hotel, Chennai. Many of the film crew also participated in this.
Producer Laxman Kumar speaking at this event,
“When we got the idea from the director and told it to the stars, everyone came into the film with a passion. Being set as a group was heartening. Happy that this is a name-telling film for all those who acted in this film. It is very satisfying that Prince Pictures has given this film as a film that has been unanimously supported by journalists and fans. This is not just a sports film. We created this by realizing that human feelings mixed with love can be interesting to what extent. Although easy to see, its creation was difficult. We were also encouraged by the reception they gave us when we took it to the theaters with the praise of the press and the confidence of the fans. My co-producer Venkatesh is my backbone for all my films. I also thank him here. Thanks to all the stars including Harish Kalyan, Attakathi Dinesh, who acted at the right time without any ego in the story of two heroes.
When Lyricist Mohanrajan speaks,
When I wrote the song in Arunraja Kamaraj’s ‘Kana’, the director Tamilarasan Pachamuthu worked as an assistant there. I will definitely call you when I make the film.. Then he said that you should write a song for me. I was able to write beautiful lyrics keeping in mind the scenes given by the director. Director Shawn Roldan continues to inspire me with Good Night, Lover. Today is my birthday so I will take this win as my birthday gift,” he said

I read the script of this film for 5 hours. After reading it, I told the director that this film is definitely a hit. He has brought what he had written in the lines to the scene.
When editor Madan speaks,
The producer called me and told me to go to the director and ask for the story. I told the director that I don’t want the full story, just tell me the line of the film, my style will be a little different. The director said take whatever is convenient for you. We both love cricket so it was easy to work together. I spent most of my 25 years at the cricket ground behind Saidapet Bus Stand. Like Bala Saravanan and Jensen both commenting in the film, there were a lot of galas in our matches too. It was able to connect beautifully with the film. The challenge was to condense the three-quarter-hour film into 20 minutes. We both love cricket but we made it from the point of view that even those who don’t like cricket should enjoy watching this film. The director generously accepted some of my suggestions and boldly changed the climax during the shoot,” he said.
When actress Devadarshini speaks,
A beautiful film is as accessible as it should be. Although family, love and sports are all there in this film, for me the bottom line of this film is love and romance. Director Tamilarasan Pachamuthu has shown it in a very beautiful and different angle. Apart from the heroine, her mother also had a romance in this film, which was really cute. Middle age romance is not seen in most films.
Thanks for showing it beautifully. During the shoot, I will ask the director if I can add some dialogues. Let’s talk about what’s in the script first. After that he said he will see. But in the end he has brought what he had written in the film. Looking at it, he seemed to have done the right thing. The whole story doesn’t tell me that the mother character herself is the thank you for holding us back in that way. When I saw the climax in the film, it was very surprising,” he said.
Actress Swasika speaks,
I made my first film in Tamil 16 years ago. I came here with many dreams then. But nothing happened. So I went to Kerala. After all these years, I am very happy to have a comeback film like this in Tamil. Feels like a second innings. None of the producers and directors know that much about me. But I don’t know how they trusted me and gave me this role. That dream that was broken at the age of 16 has now started to come true again. More Tamil films should be made. Build a house and settle here.
Director Tamilarasan never once told me on the set that I have done this Yasoda character well. Tell me now. Am I doing well? I’ve been waiting so long for him to say that word than everyone else has. I think he will say at least today. My Kethu Dinesh is not here today. He is already to act in the movie Cuckoo. But for some reason it didn’t happen. After all these years I am playing his pair. That too is a joy. I would like to thank the entire crew for giving me a new life,” he said.
When director Tamilarasan Pachamuthu speaks,
Everyone said that the title ‘Labber Bandhu’ is apt for this film. But I didn’t like it when I first put it on. Assistant Directors gave this title. When Attakathi started telling the story of this film to Dinesh, he was not as shocked as I expected when I told him that he was 40 years old in the film and that Sanjana was his daughter. After that tell me only the interval and climax scene and the asker readily agreed. He was Vijayakanth’s fan in the film. During this one and a half year period, I realized that as much as I admire Vijayakanth, he also worships him. That might also have drawn him into this film.
Swasika has acted beautifully. He was not without admiration. I thought the fans should appreciate more than me. All the crew on the set appreciated his performance. Even my wife who came to have fun said that my leader is Thanda Kethu. Before she started listening to the story, Swasika told me passionately that this should be a good re-entry for me in Tamil. He agreed to play the role of a heroine as a mother to a heroine. Now if he is happy then this film is really a success. Dinesh and Swazi were searching for something at the same stage. I am happy if they got that in this film.
I have given Harish Kalyan a lot of trouble on the sets. I have done torture.. If he thought, the production side might have changed it all in his favor. But trusting this story, trusting me and traveling with me till now. The first story I took to producer Lashman was a romantic love story. After saying that, he said no. He expected a village story based on life. After that I told this rubber ball story for 20 minutes.. He said he will call me in a few days. The people who listened to the story for two and a half hours and hugged and praised me did not call me. There was doubt as to where he was going to call. When his film Dandatti released Pooja, he called me and on that day signed a contract saying that you will be the director of my next film.
When hero Harish Kalyan speaks,
Usually every film has a press meet before its release. I don’t know if there will be a successful meet after that. But we didn’t do a pressmeet for this film. Now we come to the success meet. It is a special stage for me in that way. When we went to the theater and met the fans watching the film, we told them that we were very happy to see their enthusiasm. But they said that we enjoyed watching this film twice as much as you, which gave us even more happiness.
I know this movie will be a hit. But they did not expect to celebrate to this extent. All this glory goes to our captain director Tamilarasan Pachamuthu. Also in cricket story
