“During the 80s, I was desperately looking out for acting breakthrough and kept searching for offers. It was during the same phase, actor Rahman was on peak on his career, after working with Megastar Mammootty and Suhasini in the film ‘Koodalide’ dire acted by iconic filmmaker Padmarajan. Later, I got an opportunity to work with him in a movie titled ‘Silambu’, directed by Bharathan. Initially, I thought it’s going to be a small role, only to get to surprised, when Bharathan sir told me that it’s villain role opposite Rahman. I had perceived that actor Rahman for his celebrated fame would have egoistic attitude, but my assumptions were proved wrong. Right on the first day of shooting, he got so close to me, and even gave me acting tips. He would take my everyday by his car to shooting. The film became successful, and my fame got bigger. His friendliness and good-hearted nature remains the same even today. Later, we had a single day shooting together for a movie titled ‘Black’. After many years, we are sharing screen together in the movie ‘Bad Boyz’, where he plays the protagonist, and me as a villain. It’s a double delight for me now. Well, audience will have to wait and watch if my character is good or bad, after the film’s release,” says actor Babu Antony, who tots up stating ‘Bad Boyz’ will be a family entertainer that can be enjoyed by audiences beyond linguistic and regional boundaries.
