South Indian Actors Sangh Women Members Safety Committee Consultative Meeting
A SIAA-GSICC Committee was constituted on 22.4.2019 by the Association to investigate sexual complaints with a view to ensuring the safety of female members of the South Indian Actors’ Association based on the recommendation of the Visakha Committee.
The advisory meeting of this committee was held today (04.09.2024) at 11:30 AM at Nam Foundation Arena, T. Nagar.
The following resolutions were passed in the presence of members Suhasini, Khushboo, Lalitha Kumari, Kowai Sarala and social activist Raji Gopi under the leadership of South Indian Actors’ Association President Nassar, Vice President Puchi S. Murugan, Treasurer Karthi and Committee President Rohini. It was also decided to appoint a lawyer in the committee.

Decisions

  1. Based on the complaints of the victims of sex complaints, it is recommended to the Producers Association to investigate the perpetrators and ban them from working in the film industry for five years if the complaint is true.
  2. The committee will provide all legal assistance to the victims from filing a police complaint.
  3. Persons accused of sexual offenses shall be cautioned first. Actions will be taken later.
  4. A separate telephone number is already operational to facilitate the victims to lodge their complaints. Now facility of complaint through e-mail is also provided.
  5. Victims are advised to file their complaints through this committee and not to speak directly to the media instead.
  6. The committee will extend full cooperation to those affected by defamatory posts on YouTube about the industry and their families if they lodge a complaint with the Cybercrime Division of the Police Department.
  7. And the South Indian Actors Association will directly monitor the activities of the Committee.
