Devi gained attention by playing Jeeva’s sister in Vijay starrer Namban and Gautham Karthik’s childhood mother in Kaalad. He runs an acting training school named Deviriksha. The school’s 15th annual drama festival was held in Chennai. The two-day festival featured special drama, drumming, storytelling and many other events. It was attended by celebrities from theater and film industry.
Directors Cheran, Samuthirakani, actor Soundararaja, bar speaker Dindigul I Leoni and late VJ Ananda Kannan’s wife Rani Khanna spoke at the finale of the festival.
While speaking actor and director Cheran said, “Hello everyone. It’s been a long time since I watched an evening play. I had a different experience here with the drama artists. It was wonderful to have a satirical take on contemporary things without being a complete myth. I really liked Arjun’s character. Everyone. They acted. I’m glad that many people came to see it. It’s commendable,” he said.
While speaking, actor Soundararaja said, “Greetings to the land and the people. The only reason I come here every year is Devi. I grew up watching plays. I wanted to act in plays. But I couldn’t do it. I didn’t take proper training for it. It just went away. In my childhood, Madurai district Even though there are festivals around, there is definitely art in one form or another. That is what inspired me to become an actor.”
“As my brother said, Devi would say that art should be done in its true form. I would get angry. I would ask him to do some things as a business, but he would refuse. Devi has trained many people without even charging them because they have real talent. .”
“Actors are facing a lot of financial problems these days. But the condition of drama is still bad. They have a zeal. It gives me goosebumps just saying it. They ask if there is importance in the story, if there is dialogue, and only if they agree. That courage is really commendable.”

Actor and director Samuthirakani said, “Everyone has said what I wanted to say. It is an honor to be sitting here with my brothers. Congratulations to all the artists who are still holding on to the art of drama. It is not easy for all the actors to act in one or two roles. After acting in one shot, many actors said that I feel sad. I have seen it. All of you have a great future without any delay. I have seen it by accident. I met Annan Cheran after a long time I met my friend Ananda Kannan’s spouse. This morning will continue to grow, congratulations,” he said.
RJ Anand Kannan’s wife Rani Khanna said, “Very happy. If Anand had come here, he would have jumped and done a lot of things. I am very happy to be here on his behalf. Congratulations to all. While speaking Dindigul I Leoni said, “There are many colleges that provide training for acting. But it is the people who conduct such plays and get trained for this, who live in our hearts as the best actors. After a long time, I am sitting with them on the stage. Starting with Bharati Kannama, they created a golden age in the film industry. My wonderful brother Cheran is always the same. If you look at some directors, even when he is at the peak of fame, he is a wonderful director who can be with him today.”
