Director R. Siva The movie ‘Alan’ is directed by Siva and stars Vetri, Mathura, Anu Siddhara, Karunakaran, Vivek Prasanna, ‘Aruvi’ Madan Kumar and others. The film has cinematography by Vindan Stalin and music by debutant Manoj Krishna. The soon-to-be-released film is produced by Creative Entertainers & Distributors under producer G. The music and preview release of ‘Alan’ was held in Chennai. In this event, director Siva along with the film crew. Bhagyaraj, producer D. Siva and director Gopinath were the special guests.
Producer and Director R. Siva – While welcoming all those who came to the Shiva festival, he said, “This is my second film. I have talked about the writers in this film. Why did I talk about letters? If.. I have read many books from my 12 years to 18 years. I have read all available books. At this point my parents were always supportive of my studies. For this I thank them at this moment. I also learned how important reading books is to life. Director K. How to write a screenplay written by Bhagyaraj? After searching and reading the book, I became interested in cinema. Thinking that we should also make a film… become a director… I tried to join Chennai Film College. But I went to Singapore because of the family’s economic situation and to shoulder the family responsibility. Thirty years of my life were spent there. There I started a company as a mechanical engineer and have been running it successfully till date.
From there I examined the value given to writing while looking here. Reading of books has declined here. Parents also discourage children from reading books. We are making a huge mistake. Life is not just about reading textbooks. Beyond that, there are many writings on biology. There are lakhs of alphabets in Tamil. There are millions of books. Please ask your children at home to read books.
I started reading books at the age of 12. I had 18 students studying with me in class 10 in our school. I am living morally because of reading books. So teach them to read books. Because that’s where life lies.
I got four months off during covid. That’s when the seed planted in my subconscious peeked through. I felt the urge to write something… do something… That is why I have directed the second film ‘Alan’. This is the life of a writer.
I want to share one thing. At the UN in 2018, a young woman named Greta looks at the world and asks a question. What was the reason for his bold question? Global warming. The temperature has increased by 1.5°C on this earth. This world is for us. Air is for us water is for us who are you to pollute this? A little girl asked this question. This world is not just for us. For our posterity. It should be left to the next generation. The girl pointed out our mistakes.

We went to Kodaikanal for the shooting of this film. Four or five boys were playing there. They are only five or six years old. One of them ran up to me and said, is this a movie? He asked. Do you answer ‘yes’ and act? I asked. He replied that he is playing a villain. Why? When asked, ‘Only then can we cut. Let’s punch’ he replied. I was shocked at what kind of nonsense we have planted in the mind of a chick. Violence.. he has been taught here. Isn’t this the greatest sin? No conscience? What are we sowing? Here I have to come here from Singapore to say good thing.. read the book. I am not here to earn. This is my mind… Pain…! Pain…!What are we traveling towards? .. This is what inspired me to direct this film. The writing is in this film
I have spoken strongly. Who will benefit from writing…. What good will writing bring to this world? A book is worth a thousand friends. A book can change a life. Books are the reason I am standing here. It was books that instilled in me an orderly life and a meaningful search. Friends are not the reason I set up my life. Books are the reason.

Whenever I hear the title ‘Alan’ I feel close to it. And one of the reasons why this film is close to me is that my younger brother actor Vivek Prasanna has acted in this film.

Music director Manoj Krishna said, “This is my first film. The opportunity for this film came unexpectedly. Before this I was contracted to compose music for a film. I composed three songs for the film and cinematographer Vindan asked for those songs. On his recommendation, producer director Siva listened to those songs and gave him the opportunity to compose music for the film. I didn’t expect this film to be my debut film. However, I seek everyone’s blessings.

I am a big fan of Karthik Netha, the lyricist who wrote the songs for this film. He has also written songs for another film that I have composed music for. I have been reading a collection by poet Manushyaputra titled Division. It is very good. He is serving for other’s skill in Tamil language. I thank him for this too. He mentioned that all the directors had talked about me in a scriptwriting workshop he had attended. Proud and happy to hear that. All this belongs to our Guru Bharathiraja. Because if he doesn’t exist then I don’t exist.
I did not understand the song writer Karthik Netha who spoke here. Enjoyed it though. He recited a poem called The First Poem. I never understood that. Because the words were new. Then after ten years he wrote poetry. I don’t understand that either. But at the end he recited a poem. It was easy. Everyone liked it.
First of all we have to thank the producer and director Siva. They come to film industry for fame and fame or they come to earn money. I entered the film industry only for fame. After that the earnings were received. But when Shiva says that beyond these two things there is another thing.. it was very moving. I gained respect for him when he chose cinema for social service.
He went to Singapore due to his family situation and earned there, invested the money he earned in cinema and did not want to earn more… Allan has directed the film to do what he wants to say in cinema. He has made this film without worrying about loss or anything else.

It was only after that that the story of Erk Kai Osai took shape. After that silent hymns… like this gradually I created stories through experiences.
Viewing our lives is the same. Reading books is the same. Because one cannot have many experiences in his life. But while reading the books, the author has made many people he met in his life as characters.
I have read Khandekar stories, Jayakanthan stories, Kalki stories in my life. There are many new characters to be found when reading a lot of books like this.
Also, keep in mind that you should keep learning till the end. In the end there is always something for us to learn. What is Allen even today? I don’t know that. When Shiva was asked about this he said that Alan means Shiva. This was a new thing for me.
