Malaysian MP and Malaysian Indian Congress Deputy President Datuk Seri Dr. M. Saravanan honoured with Global Icon award by Rotary Club of Madras North

In yet another feather to the hat of Datuk Seri Dr. M. Saravanan, Rotary Club of Madras North honoured the Member of Parliament, Malaysia and Deputy President of Malaysian Indian Congress with the prestigious Global Icon Award.
The award was presented to him at Dance of District Season 12 event held at Ethiraj College in Chennai on November 24 (Sunday). Rotary Club President Shabeer Nazeer, Secretary Mary Amutha, DOD-Chairman Joseph Raja and Director Vocational Service Priyadarshini among others were present at the function.
Dr. Saravanan was chosen for the award for his exemplary leadership in fostering regional cooperation, promoting unity, and uplifting the underprivileged across borders, and also for his multifaceted persona spanning politics, spirituality, and literature.
In his acceptance address, Dr. Saravanan said, “It is both honour and privilege to receive this most prestigious award from the Roatarians. My heartfelt thanks to all of you who are here. I am honoured to receive this award more than being honoured by being given this award. I am proud of this award.
As far as I am concerned, awards are not given for what we have worked so far, but for what we will continue to work for. And whether I am worthy of the award you have given me so far or not, I will definitely prepare myself in the future. Thank you, warm greetings.”
