Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu said, ”
When you watch the preview of the film ‘Kingston’, you can see the hard work of G.V. Prakash Kumar. My congratulations to debutant director Kamal Prakasam who directed the film.
My congratulations to director Vetrimaaran, who is dedicated to identifying the young generation in the hamlets of Tamil Nadu who are passionate about cinema and teaching them all the techniques of cinema through a foundation and making them creative.
After the great Ilaiyaraaja and the great A R Rahman, G.V. Prakash Kumar’s talent in background music shines. I produced the film ‘Asuran’. G.V. Prakash Kumar had composed the music for that film. When this film was remade in Telugu, Venkatesh, who acted in that film, suggested that the background music of the Tamil film ‘Asuran’ could be used. When I told G.V. Prakash and Vetrimaaran about it, they immediately gave permission to use it without any hesitation. The film became a big hit in Telugu with G.V. Prakash Kumar’s background music. The song ‘Raasa’ featured in this film was a hit.
What does Parallel Universe mean to Vetrimaaran? I asked. He replied that whatever is the highest is equal to that. In that way, this company will achieve great success in Tamil. I wish this company to continue to produce films by identifying new young talents and giving them opportunities,” he said.
Cinematographer Gokul Binoy said, ”During the shooting of the film Adiye, G. V. Prakash Kumar had heard a story in such a new genre. Will you work on it? He asked. After listening to the story, I agreed. At the time of starting work on the film, there should be no compromise on the quality of this film. He expressed his desire that this work should be made at international standards. Since he is interested in learning techniques related to cinematography while working on the film, he said to use new technologies for this film. As he said, he made a big contribution in all aspects of this film, including VFS scenes – equipment – lighting system – stage – etc.
His ambition is to continue producing films along with producing this film. I thank him for that and for his continued support and for giving me the opportunity to work on this film. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the other actors, actresses and technicians who worked on this film.”
Art Director S. S. Murthy said, “The challenge for this film was to design a special interior that combines the sea and the ship. I thank producer G.V. Prakash Kumar for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.”
Director Sudha Kongara said, “I have known G.V. Prakash Kumar for 20 years. Since then, he has been saying that he wants to achieve something new. I have never seen anyone else with the same passion for cinema. He has not only said it but also done it. He continues to work in cinema as a music composer, actor and producer. His production
“Juvanam is like my own production company.
I see a lot of young talent here. Director Kamal Prakash’s hard work is visible on the screen. My congratulations to all the actors, actresses and technicians who worked on this film. This film will be a huge success,” he said.
Speaking, Director Kamal Prakash said, “I have worked hard for this day for so many days. ..I have dreamed of it.. I believe that our hard work for this film will definitely speak on the screen.
I direct short films on a very low budget. But we have an idea. That idea has no budget. I have been traveling with G.V. Prakash sir for six years continuously and one day during that trip I told him the idea about the film. Producer G.V. Prakash Kumar, who trusted me to direct a short film for Rs. 20,000, has made the film ‘Kingston’ by investing almost Rs. 20 crores. For this, I first express my gratitude to him. I would like to thank everyone who worked for this.
The greatest strength of this film is its creation. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the cinematographers, art directors, editors, stunt directors, and VFX crew who have contributed with their dedication to this.
In the screenplay of this film, action will not be isolated but will be combined with the screenplay. Due to this, the contribution of stunt director Dilip Subbarayan is also significant. Due to this, we completed all the tasks of the film within the planned days and within the planned budget.
The actors who have acted in this film, Chethan, Alagamperumal, and Kumaravel, have played different roles.
I am sure that this film will appeal to fans from all walks of life,” she said.
Speaking, actress Divya Bharathi said, “Thank you to all the special guests who came to the event to release this preview. I am meeting the media after three years after the film ‘Bachelor’. I am happy about that.
When director Kamal Prakash was telling me the story of ‘Kingston’, he showed me a prototype video of how I should look like as a character on screen. After watching it, I said that I would definitely act in this film.
This is the second time I have acted with Jeevy Prakash Kumar after ‘Bachelor’. He is very friendly. I have acted in a few films but those films have not been released yet. This film with Jeevy Prakash Kumar is being released. I am happy about this.
Director Kamal Prakash is very calm. Patient. Calm. I have never seen him talk to anyone on the set. This surprised me. Normally, directors have a lot of tension.
The shooting of the film took place for 70 days. The cinematographer Gokul Binoy did not speak to me even once. He is careful in his work.
We kept getting soaked in water during the shooting of the film. Even if I feel a little uncomfortable because my hair is long, my co-stars will talk to me and make it normal. So I would like to thank them at this moment.
I have also acted in some action scenes in this film. Kingston will provide a great experience for the fans. Everyone should come to the cinema hall on March 7th and support me.
Speaking, Director Aswath Marimuthu said, “The director of this film is my friend Kamal Prakash. G.V. Prakash Kumar has been supporting him for the last six years. I would like to thank G.V. Prakash Kumar first for that.
I once went to the shooting site of the film. The stage was designed grandly. I was amazed and happy to see it. I would like to congratulate and thank everyone who gave shape to the director’s imagination at this moment.
Divya Bharathi and G.V. Prakash Kumar had acted well in the film ‘Bachelor’. Their chemistry was also good. I hope it will be the same in this film too.
I really like G.V. Prakash Kumar’s performance in ‘Trisha Illana Nayanthara’. G.V. Prakash would have danced in ‘Thalaivaa’ and ‘Vanganna Vanganna’ too. But after that he has become an actor and is mixing things up.
Director Kamal Prakash is basically a technical genius. If any new technology is introduced in the film industry.. Kamal Prakash is the first to know about it and share it with our group.
Although my short film ‘Muthal Mutham’ did not get an award.. Director Vetrimaaran congratulated me at the ceremony, saying, ‘You will become a great writer’. It was because of his wishes that I was able to write and direct the films ‘Oh My God’ and ‘Dragon’.
Your congratulations are the reason for my success. So I would like to thank you for that at this moment. ” He said.
Director Pa Ranjith said, ” From the moment the work of this film began, G.V. Prakash Kumar has always been talking enthusiastically about the film. That is why this film will be a huge success. I would like to thank G.V. Prakash Kumar for giving a chance to a first-time director without worrying about the budget.
Trusting an artist is very important. Trusting in a new concept. Especially making a film by relying on the VFX team is a challenge. In this regard, I have once asked G.V. Prakash Kumar what is the VFX budget? But the quality of the film is higher than the budget they said.
He always keeps thinking that he should somehow bring this to the people. I knew after watching the preview that this will definitely provide a cinematic experience. The actors.. visuals.. music.. everything was magnificent.
In today’s environment, there is a big challenge in making and releasing a film in Tamil cinema. People want such content-oriented films.
When working with G V P … he will understand exactly what we want to say and work on it. That is his uniqueness. This is what creators like me need. This makes me happy. He has put his trust in this team and made this film. So I wish this film a huge success.
Congratulations to debutant director Kamal too. A first-time director has a lot of restrictions. Many people have some restrictions when directing their first film and even when directing their second film. I see it as an important thing for you to work on such a huge budget film with the experience of directing a short film. My congratulations to everyone who worked on this.
We have seen that small budget films – content films attract a large number of fans in the theaters. The success of films like ‘Kudumbasthan’ and ‘Dragon’ is a good example of this. Even though there are challenges in producing small budget films… Even though there are challenges in releasing them… Even though there are challenges in selling them on OTT platforms… The only hope for producers is the theaters. For this, I express my gratitude to directors like me, producers, Tamil cinema, and fans who have given me great hope, everyone.”
Speaking, Director Vetrimaaran said, “G.V. Prakash Kumar always works enthusiastically without getting tired. This is his special mark. Any director… at any time… would contact him to meet him, he would immediately contact him and give the right answer. He never refused to work. This can be said to be his unique talent.
After working as a music composer for ten years, he wanted to act. At that time, I asked him why he suddenly wanted to act? Working in one room was tiring. He said he wanted to come out and work.
But after he came to act, his musical talent expanded further. Since he himself became an actor, he was able to improve his music easily. Not only that, he is always ready to learn. In this film too, he is improving himself as an actor and a composer.
A few days ago, he suddenly called me and said that I am going to be a producer. After congratulating me, I asked who is the director? A new director. He said that this is a sea fantasy genre film… This is the first in India without losing enthusiasm. He had so much faith in this film.
I had gone to see a huge theater designed for this film. That theater was truly amazing. Ocean waves, boats, rain, snow.. They explained its movement technically. After seeing all this, I did the math in my mind and asked what the budget was. They said that the budget was 10% of the budget I had expected. I was really surprised. A huge theater on a small budget. Thank you to everyone who worked for this.
As the actors mentioned, it is difficult to act in this huge theater. It is challenging. Their hard work is ..enjoyable on screen.
Congratulations to G.V. Prakash Kumar for his dedication as a producer, actor and music composer, and to the director who is worthy of his trust.
This is basically a technical work. The technicians have worked brilliantly. The commerciality of this film
Yal Vetri will help a producer who is passionate about cinema like G.V. Prakash Kumar to make more products. I congratulate the entire team,” he said.
Producer-musician-actor G.V. Prakash Kumar said, “Director Vetrimaaran is like a mother in our house. Mother always warns us about the safety of our children.
After that, he shows us the way. Even though I initially refused when I told him to act, it was Vetrimaaran who sent me for acting training. He and I have been traveling together for 18 years.
I have worked with Thanu sir on two films, ‘Theri’ and ‘Asuran’. Both were Vetrimas. So he is a good producer for me. Currently, we are also associated with ‘Vadivasal’.
Director Sudha Kongara – He is also a friend of mine for 20 years. When he was an assistant to Mani Ratnam, I was an assistant to A.R. Rahman. He has stage fright and never comes on stage. He came here on my invitation. I also express my gratitude to him.
I have been travelling with Pa Ranjith for the last two years. I have acted in a film produced by him. I composed the music for the film ‘Dhangalan’. It was an unforgettable experience. He elevates his assistants to directors. So whenever I work with him, I get a new enthusiasm.
Director Kamal does not make any corrections on the set only when actress Divya Bharathi is acting. This was a surprise to me. It was only after that I came to know that his wife’s name is also Divya Bharathi. It was only after that I came to know the love he has for his wife.
This is a big dream. We watch films like Harry Potter released in Hollywood. I think why can’t we make something like this. When they take the story of their grandmother, we thought that we can take the story of our grandmother. Kingston is a story like our village grandmother’s story.
A fantasy. It should be told from our storyline. That is, how would our hometown Harry Potter be? Such thoughts occurred to me when Kamal told me the story.
Zee Studios joined this film. They gave their full support. For this, I thank Akshay and Vinoth at this moment. They are also a part of our dream.
Thanks also to Kamal Haasan, who directed the first scene of this film. I went to him and started a production company. I expressed my desire that you should direct the first scene of the first film to be produced by our production company. He also came and directed it immediately without any objection. I thank you for this.
Also, Zee Studios, VFX Team, Dileep Subbarayan, Nirav Shah, Gokul Binoy, S. S. I would like to express my gratitude to many people including Murthy, Shaan Lokesh, Poornima, lyricists, choreographers, Gopi Prasanna, Singh Cinema, Sarigama, Alagam Perumal, Chethan, Kumaravel, Sabumon, Antony, Arun, Rajesh, Divya Bharathi, Yuvaraj, Deepik, Venkat Arumugam, Dinesh Guna, Kamal Prakash, etc., he said.
