Director Arivazhagan’s “Sabdham” trailer launch, starring actor Aadhi!!

I worked as an assistant cinematographer in director Arivazhagan’s Eeram. It was only after that that I started working as a cinematographer. After watching my first film “Mahamuni”, Arivazhagan sir made me the cinematographer for this film. I am grateful to him for that. This film is the most important film I have ever had in my life. It is difficult to recreate a film like this. We have worked hard as a team for this film. Starting from the hero sir, the entire crew gave their full cooperation in this film. It was a great pleasure to travel with this team.

The reason I am standing on this stage is because of the opportunity given to me by director Arivazhagan to edit the trailer of Eeram 15 years ago. After that, Vallinam, from there, life has brought me here. Now, the sound, for this film, is like playing cricket at home ground. I had complete freedom to work creatively. Arivazhagan has added a lot of small details to it. We have given a lot of importance to the sound, it will definitely be a different experience for the fans. Hero Aadhi is my friend, I can talk to him about anything, he has acted wonderfully in this film. All the technicians have worked very hard. This film will please everyone.

I have worked in all the films except Arivazhagan’s Eeram, I had the regret that Eeram did not work, that has gone away in this film. Usually when directors tell a story, they say that they have two scenes for sound, but this film is entirely with sound. It is rare for us to get a film like this. I am very happy to get this film. My mentor Deepan Chakravarthy sir, who has done all the Oomai Vizhigal films, this film will give the feeling of a Oomai Vizhigal film. How will that film be if it comes in this trend? It will be like that. Only a few directors in Tamil make films technically, and Arivazhagan is very important in it. The technicians gave importance to sound and gave great cooperation. Thaman’s music will be a huge strength. Aadhi has acted wonderfully. This film will be a new experience for the fans.

After a long break, my film is coming to theaters. Just like the innovation in Eeram by using water, there were many challenges when it came to using sound in this film. Eeram is a technically acclaimed film till now. When it comes to horror in water, it was very easy to show the image of the spirit. But how to show the ghost with sound was a challenge while writing the story. We planned to bring that quality to the screen, as the Dolby sound promo will not come in the theater in sound. 7G Films’ 7G Siva was very supportive of the film, when the budget of this film was big, he understood the technicalities of this film and stood in full support of the film. Since they were already in distribution, he had a complete understanding of the film. He said to do all the expenses required by the film. It is because of him that this film has come with this level of quality. And my technicians were also very helpful. Audiographer Udayakumar has been working with me for a long time. Editor Sabu, cinematographer Arun, music composer Thaman have all worked together to make this film. What is the difference between this film and other horror films? There are many genres in horror and I believe that there should be a reason for everything. Just like Eeram took you into an experience, this film will be a very different experience. The cinematographer said that we can put blue tone in this film, it will be very different. Sabu Joseph has also done a lot of innovations in this film. Apart from my view in the film, I will see how his view is, he has worked hard on it. Thanks to him. Viveka has worked in all my films, and the songs in this film will be good too. We discussed a lot about where not to go. He has done it very well. Adi sir and I have been talking about working for a long time, he said that we can do this film as soon as the story is told, I have done the film in the first copy under his production, I have bothered Thaman a lot, but after all that, it was amazing when he came to the background music. Someone has to believe in the story we thought and come in, that is what makes me comfortable, Adi trusted me and came in. This film will be a very different horror experience. I believe that my honesty has brought me here, this film will be a film that everyone will like, thank you.

This stage is very important. When I tell my friends about this film “Shaptham”, they ask why it is horror, when you say horror, there is a little downward view, then I say that Eram is also horror, they praise it that Eram will be super. They praise it that it will be different in horror, that is Arivazhagan sir, will there be another film like Eram directed by him? I have thought so, and Arivazhagan has given it to me again. I have played a paranormal investigator in this film, this is entirely the film of this team, the entire film is their hard work. We often say that it is like a Hollywood film, but here, the film that has created our cinema at a level that surpasses Hollywood is Shabdham. Thank you to all of you for sure.
