Suzhal :The Vortex was a nail biting crime thriller that deliberated on abuse of the opposite sex by men, even small girls included in addition to the problems that cropped up when an industrial establishment was set on fire!
In the second season of this OTT sensation, the 8 episodes focus on human trafficking, especially involving little girls of impressionable ages.
Even families are not spared as those involved approach parents and lure them into believing that they could spare their girl children to go away with these people in the pretext of providing them with a bright future.
After getting shortlisted, they are shipped off to far off places.
Aishwarya Rajesh who is serving a jail term for having shot her uncle who had abused her as well as her younger sister who died eventually, the pistol of a known acquaintance, an SI, played by Kathir facilitating her for the act. Kathir is placed under compulsory leave.
Lal, an advocate who represents Aishwarya Rajesh is also a social crusader who has been following a gang involved in the trade of young girls.
Saravanan is an Inspector attached to the local police station.
His untimely and unexpected death sets the ball rolling for a process of investigation headed by Kathir.
From then on it is a cat and mouse game with several twists and turns, punctuated by thrills and frills.
Lal, Saravanan, Aishwarya Rajesh and Kathir steal the show in an effortless manner.
Certain episodes prove to be a drag as the sequences stretch endlessly though the outcome is obvious. Sam C. S. ‘s music is a big plus for the proceedings.
