“Om Kaali Jai Kaali’ encapsulates mythology with ritualistic element, which impressed me” – Actress Seema Biswas
Actress Seema Biswas, one of the finest artistes that Indian Cinema can boast off, has been too choosy with her scripts. Capturing the Pan-Indian audiences’ attention with her promising performances in magnum opuses like Bandit Queen, Khamoshi and many more movies, she stepped into Tamil industry through Iyarkai in 2003 followed by a convincing role in Thalaimagan in 2006. After a long hiatus, she is making her presence in the Tamil domain through the Hotstar Specials ‘Om Kaali Jai Kaali’, premiering on Jio Hotstar on March 28, which features Vimal in the lead role.
Sharing about her experience working in this web series, actress Seema Biswas says, “The basic gist of the series itself was so intriguing as it encapsulates mythology with ritualistic element. I play the role of an informant for the main antagonist, which will have both positive and negative layers. In fact, I found it interesting, and instantly wanted to be a part of the show. Director Ramu Chellappa is committed, diligent, and fervent about his work. He traveled to Mumbai to share the story with me, using a translator. On set, I felt quite anxious about the language barrier, but Ramu thoroughly supported me throughout the filming.”
The scintillating trailer of Om Kaali Jai Kaali has already garnered tremendous response, and has skyrocketed the expectations for the series, premiering on March 28, 2025.
