Trailer launch of ‘Test’!

Directed by S. Sashikanth and produced by YNOT Studios, ‘Test’ will be released on Netflix on April 4. Its trailer launch was held today.

Speaking at the event, Monica Shergill, Vice President, Netflix India, said, “There are many talented stories being released in Tamil cinema. ‘Test’ is one of them. This sports drama story talks about the family and the challenges faced by the main characters. Director Sashikanth has handled it skillfully. R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth, Meera Jasmine, all the talented actors have come together for the first time for this film. ‘Test’ is our first original Tamil film this year. We are excited for audiences all over the world to watch this film.”

Actor Madhavan said, “Whenever I take on a role, whether it is a good or a villain, I am careful about how well I make it. This role was a challenge for me and I gave it my best.”

Actor Siddharth said, “In our country, cricket is life. Whoever you ask, they say they love cricket. I am one of them. Many people watch and play cricket for many hours every day and become accustomed to the game. Therefore, you cannot simply act as a cricketer and compare it. Playing the role of a Test cricketer is not easy. I have been inspired by many people to play this role. If the anxiety that comes with watching cricket comes to you while watching this film, then that is a success for us. I like cricketer Rahul Dravid. I want to dedicate my character to him.”

Actress Meera Jasmine said, “I am happy to have collaborated with Netflix on ‘Test’. It is a beautiful film. You must watch it. Maddy and I are one of the most celebrated pairs on screen. We have worked in films like ‘Run’ and ‘Ayutha Eshtu’. YNOT Studios has produced the film. It was a pleasure to work with director Sashi and Nayanthara.”

Director Sashikanth said, “I came to cinema to direct films. But I did not know how to direct, so I started YNOT Studios to learn it. Mature actors were needed to understand the characters in this ‘Test’ film. I myself needed many tests for this film. That is why it took so long for the film to release.”
