With a military camp as the backdrop, this fabulous flick tugs at your heart strings while unfolding the tale of a soldier who is wholesomely committed to his battalion notwithstanding the fact that he had left his home long, long ago while his wife was pregnant with his son who is now a growing lad, eagerly awaiting the arrival of his dear dad, who he had never ever seen since his birth!
Like his colleagues, Saravanan (Anbumani) too takes advantage of the lady prisoners and goes ahead with his life as a soldier who longs to go back home!
Repeatedly, his application for leave gets rejected on official grounds as some issue or the other crops up at the Camp refraining him from availing his vacation!
On an occasion, he and a few of his colleagues are informed that they all all leave the following day!
With unfailing enthusiasm, Saravanan informs his son, Kannan (Master Joel) that he is heading home but at the nick of time, his plans of going home gets thwarted at the last moment!
The reason being the fact that a small but smart boy named Kannan (Master Adwaith) is arriving there as a prisoner to be interrogated by the officials about the hidden agenda of his dad who was shot by them in the pretext of being a revolutionary!
Though Saravanan despises the boy initially, he develops a liking for the boy who carries the same name as his son and soon starts showering love and affection on the boy!
This prisoner named Kannan is befriended by Saravanan’s son, Kannan, thanks to Saravanan’s mobile phone!
Following a cold blooded interrogation during all occasions, prisoner Kannan emerging triumphant and the final verdict is delivered which acquits the little lad!
At the same time, Saravanan is being reprimanded by his seniors for having walked the extra mile with the boy!
He explains himself by expressing himself and the higher ups tell him that he can proceed on leave and he can even take the boy along!
It all appears to end on a fairy tale style but then, there is a twist in the tale!
The closing portions would melt even hard hearts!
Anbumani has virtually carried the film on his shoulders but it is Master Adwaith who steals the show by his innocence! He is too good in the scenes wherein he comes up with quick responses which are more like retorts during interrogation!
The military camp sequences bear the stamp of authenticity!
Biju Raveendran ‘s screenplay and dialogue deserve definite mention.
Saanand George’s music is apt falling in line with the course of the narration!
The movie stays put in the minds of the viewers even long after leaving the theaters!
