It was indeed a memorable occasion with the creamy layers of science and technology converging at the Central Lecture Hall, IIT to showcase a historical collaboration!

IIT Madras & IIT-Madras Pravartak Foundation partners with Ziroh Labs to establish the Centre of AI Research

IIT Madras & IIT-Madras Pravartak Foundation partners with Ziroh Labs to establish the Centre of AI Research to solve AI for those with accessibility challenges

Aligned with India’s AI Mission “AI for All”, Ziroh Labs launches breakthrough platform Kompact AI in collaboration with IIT-Madras and IIT-Madras Pravartak Foundation

· AI development is currently dominated by ‘Big AI’—massive, general-purpose models designed for scale.

· While powerful, current models demand extensive computing power & energy, making them costly & inaccessible to most communities

· The Centre of AI Research jointly established between IIT-Madras, IITM- Pravartak and Ziroh Labs will be focused on accessible AI for developers, businesses and researchers

· In a significant step towards making AI Models available on CPUs, Ziroh Labs unveiled ‘Kompact AI’ at IIT Madras today (9th April 2025)

· Kompact AI has been developed by Indian Scientists and Engineers

· Kompact AI will democratize AI for enterprises that work on models with less than 50 billion parameters

· Kompact AI will bring AI to the edges using CPU-optimized, compact models specific to the task.
