“Saani” movie launch ceremony – started in the presence of school students.
On 14 April 2025, on the occasion of the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar, a new initiative in Tamil cinema was held in Karunguzhi village, Madhurantakam taluk, Chengalpattu district.
Produced by Marudhu Productions, the film “Saani” written and directed by C. Mohanraj and starring Marudhu Pandian as the protagonist was launched at the CSI Girls Primary School located in the village. The launch ceremony was held with great respect, with the photographs of educational leaders Dr. Ambedkar, Father Periyar, Dr. Muthulakshmi, Perunthalaivar Kamaraj and A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in the foreground.
School teachers and students participated in the ceremony in person.
Moreover, all the students were given sweets, notebooks, pens and book bags, and this event was an attempt to build a bridge between education and art with social control.
Director C. Mohanraj said that the main reason why he is still here today is education. Born in a poor family, without education, it would not have been possible for me to write, read or think, so my long-standing dream of starting my film journey in school with the blessings of the students and the leaders who fought for education, has come true today.
I express my heartfelt gratitude to the producer and the protagonist of this story, my brother Maruthu Pandian, who was the catalyst for this, and to the school principal and teachers who allowed this event to take place in the school. This gives me great joy.
