‘WITFA’ first conference held on a grand scale!
‘WITFA’ organization and its purpose will benefit the film industry – Celebrities praise
‘World International Tamil Film Associations – WITFA’ is an international organization created in an effort to unite Tamil cinema enthusiasts around the world. (World International Tamil Film Association – WITFA) The first conference of this organization, headquartered in Chennai, was held on April 20 at Prasad Lab. in Chennai.
Also, at this event, the national anthem of the WITFA organization and the title and first look poster of the first film produced by WITFA, ‘Expired Medicine’ were released. In this, Distributors Association President K. Rajan, Directors Association President R.V. Udayakumar, Secretary Perarasu, director and music composer Gangai Amaran participated.
Welcoming the guests, A.R.M. Rasheem, the international president, director and producer of the Witfa organization, said, “I am a person who has great faith in God. No matter how big the matter is, it will happen, and I will participate in it with the belief that God will be with me, and that is how I have created this international organization.
I wanted to direct a film with Rajinikanth. I did not think about whether it would happen or not, I just thought that I should make a film with Rajinikanth. Although it did not happen, I have made a film with Rajinikanth’s brother today. Rajinikanth’s brother Satyanarayana, who has never acted in anyone’s film, has acted in my film today. It is by the grace of God that he has acted in my film. Gangai Amaran sir, who attended today’s Vitfa conference as a special guest, is such a great person. It is by the grace of God that he has participated in this program. I have traveled for six days for his film Palani without the knowledge of the director Perara, so he is my guru. R.V. Udayakumar, who is the president of the Directors Association, is a director who has given huge hits. I am happy to welcome K. Rajan sir, who has been giving voice to small-budget films.
‘Mambazham Thirudi’ is my sixth film, the seventh film I am directing, and the first film produced by WITFA. In this, we are going to introduce someone who is popular in Sri Lanka. I will not be the only one to direct all the films produced by WITFA. WITFA is going to produce two films every year and release ten films. So, 12 films will be released by WITFA every year. Through this, we are going to create many new faces like two producers, two directors, actors and actresses.
We are going to work for the film industry as an association. So far, 11 thousand people have joined our organization as members. 40 people will be in the main management of the organization and 150 people will be members of the executive committee. Lakhs of people are going to join as ordinary members and members of the organization’s fan club. About 50,000 people, about 1,000 from every district in Tamil Nadu, are going to join Vidfa.
Witfa members will be given a 50 percent discount on the price of watching the films we release. Today, if you want to watch a film in a theater, you know how much it costs. If you have a 50 percent discount on that, see how much your expenses will be reduced. Similarly, when films of leading actors like Vijay, Ajith, Suriya are released, the price of a ticket is sold for about Rs. 500. At such times, if you have a 50 percent discount, your expenses will be reduced by half. We will not release ordinary films. Similarly, we will only produce films based on good stories, and we have a team for that.
Rajinikanth’s name is going to be in Vitfa’s first film ‘Mambazham Thirudi’. Since his brother is acting in the film, Rajinikanth’s name will definitely be included. This is how we plan and produce each of our films and release them.
The bylaws and regulations of our organization are very honest. In particular, its bylaws are designed to expel even me, who created the organization. If the key executives like the president and secretary make a mistake, we have created such restrictions that the other executives can convene an executive committee and expel them. There is a small fee to join such a strong organization, it is only Rs. 200.
My father was a social worker, the president of a big college, and he was also the president of many public welfare organizations. He said, “If you die, 40 people should cry.” That is why I, who was in a higher position than a member of parliament in Sri Lanka, left that job and came to the film industry. I have come to this industry with the hope that I can help lakhs of people through this industry. Today, I am telling you that the second conference of VITFA will be held at Nehru Stadium, and 150 members of the executive committee will have a car at their homes. The money for this
We have started the events. Sri Lankan Tamils all over the world are very wealthy, and we are going to meet them all and tell them about our organization. Therefore, through Witfa, we are going to help not only the Tamil film industry but also all the common people who are interested in cinema.” He said.
Directors Association President R.V. Udayakumar said, “I thought it was a music release ceremony, but when I came here, I was afraid that it would be some new association. The people in the existing association have no work here, I was afraid that this is a new association. But, instead, they think that they should do good for cinema as an organization.
Not only did they bring the Tamil community together to release a creator’s work, they have also worked hard to increase the ticket sales of that film. To succeed here, talent alone is not enough, you need a little luck, you need the support of the ruling party, and only if you have that, you will get a theater and the film will be released. But, even though this is nothing, they have created an organization and made a good effort through Witfa, without standing against anyone. When I heard about this organization, I thought about joining it myself. At this time, I would like to make a request as the President of the Directors Association, and I request that Witfa should give an opportunity to the members of the Directors Association who come up with good stories.
Director and producer Rasheem has started this Vidfa organization to make others successful by following his success. I wish him success with his passion and effort. I wish Vidfa to grow successfully.
Speaking, the President of the Distributors Association, K. Rajan, said, “Rashim has explained a wonderful plan among us that will keep the film industry alive and flourish. We can do anything by relying on Sri Lankan Tamils all over the world who will keep the film industry alive. Cinema lives only because of our blood Sri Lankan Tamils living all over the world. Rasheem, who is such a Sri Lankan Tamil, is an excellent effort to keep the Tamil film industry alive, and this WITFA organization is an excellent effort.
I wish that all the works of this WITFA organization, which will release unreleased films and develop many people as producers and directors, will be successful, and that Rasheem will direct many successful films.”
Director Perarasu said, “I was a little scared when it came to WITFA. Suddenly, new unions are being started. Workers used to start unions, but today employers are starting workers’ unions. In the current situation of the film industry, it is easy to make a film, but releasing it has become very, very difficult. This WITFA organization has come to make such a difficult task very easy. This type of organization will be useful for the current Tamil cinema.
Also, at this time, I would like to make a request to the WITFA organization, there are many small films that are not being released, many very good films. I request your team to watch such films and release them. This will be a service you do for cinema. Today, in the cinema industry, there is no such thing as a small film or a big film. If a good film is successful, it will definitely be successful, and if it is successful, it will become a big film. So, if you make a good film, you will definitely be successful. Today, films have started running, if you make a good film, people come to the theater. At this time, cinema people are beating each other up. Everyone should take responsibility for this. We should sit down and talk and find a solution to the problem. I request the government, which receives millions of crores in taxes from the cinema, to take responsibility for this and hold talks. I wish VIDFA great growth,” he said.
Director and music composer Gangai Amaran said, “When I heard about the WIDFA organization, it is a very special organization. You should find and catch people who carry a story as their life and give them a chance. If you produce such stories, you will definitely succeed. There is a lot of violence in the films coming out now. Kamal has gone to such films. The reason for that is the people, we are ready to direct the film based on what they think and what they want. There are many stories in our lives, and only by directing the film based on that can we succeed.
People are praising the film Karakkattakaran that I directed, Karakkattakaran is the theme of Dillana Mohammal’s film, if I tell you this, you will know, if not, you will not know. Music is the same, another song will be an example of many songs that you celebrate. It should not be called coffee, it should be called impact. No one here has brought anything with them, we must travel the path shown by our ancestors, according to the circumstances they find ourselves in.
The work of the Witfa organization is very good. You have produced films with good storylines, I will tell Naal Ilaiyaraaja to compose music for free, and I will also write songs for free, I wish Vitfa a great success, thank you,” he said.
