It is election time on our country and films based on elections and electorates would possibly be lapped up by the audience – common belief amidst script writers, producers and directors! It was Uyir Thamizhukku last week and it is Election, this week! Vijayakumar who would fit into any character like a glove, takes some time to settle down in the character if Nadarajan but once he does it, go about it in his inimitable style and is quite impressive as an aspirant in the local body elections.Thamizh who wrote and wielded Seththumaan deliberating on the bonding between a grandfather and his grandson making the audience feel that he is no newcomer to directing films despite the fact that it was his debut vehicle, has resorted to a commercial route here and obviously, resorted to all possible twists and turns in the screenplay so that the product becomes commercially viable!Pavel Navageethan ‘ s character seems to be well written but its arc towards the climax is predictable!Preethi Asrani and Richa Joshi do not strike a big deal with the narration.George Maryan as Vijayakumar’ s dad deserves mention.Govind Vasantha ‘ s music passes muster.
