Ganesh Venkatram plays ‘Velu Thambi’ historical hero in this Ambitious PAN INDIA Series !
Actor Ganesh Venkatram is all set to play the role of ‘Velu Thambi’ who is well known for his brave acts against the oppressive British Government!
Celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence, Contiloe Pictures and DD National have launched their magnum opus ‘Swaraj’ which showcases the inspiring stories of the Unsung Heroes of India.
It airs every Sunday at 9 PM and will soon be available in all languages HINDI, TAMIL, MALAYALAM, KANNADA, MARATHI, ENGLISH etc and soon on a popular ott platform as well. Prime Minister Narendra Modi with his cabinet ministers watched the special screening of the show recently.
Ganesh says that as an Actor he has always aspired to play a Powerful Character from the annals of Indian history – A Braveheart, a Warrior and the experience has been truly fulfilling. “Today, every project has the potential to be pan-India.The language and cultural barriers are slowly melting away thanx to OTT.. This is a great time for actors like me who want to experiment with Different roles and work in different language industries. Our History & Culture have so many untold stories of valor which the young generation must know about. For example, I am super eager to see ‘Ponnyin selvan’ as it is an important work depicting our culture and history. Similarly, Velu Thambi is a character I have only read about & Watching these stories unfold on screen will be an interesting experience for the audience as well” he sings off.
On the work front, The actor has completed shooting for a multilingual project ‘Sabari’ where he is paired opposite Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and is currently shooting for ‘Varisu’ starring Vijay & directed by Vamshi.
