Life and Death are two totally different concepts both of which are interpreted or misinterpreted wrongly, most of the time!
Here, Death is personified as a human being who deliberates on the several aspects of deaths through four different episodes each of which end up with human losses stressing on the differentiating line between natural death and ‘invited’ death fear being the main reason for the latter!
Santhosh Pratap plays Mr. Death and goes on and on with his deliberations about death at the end of each episode. The backdrop and the black and white color tone deserve mention.
In the first episode, a couple devoted deeply to each other live a peaceful life till Covid steps in to shatter their lives as the lady of the house gets victimized!
In the second episode, a couple, after strenuous efforts, beget a child but their happiness becomes short-lived as their daughter dies owing to consumption of a cool drink with an expired time line!
In the third episode, a man in his sixties fends for his aged mother who is bedridden without ant help from his siblings or his children and breaks down when she breathes her last!
In the fourth and final episode, a couple of close friends all of whom grew up together meet with the death of one of them who loses the functionality of both the kidneys! They are unable to cope with his loss…
Ashok Swaminathan’s camera work as well as the score of Navin Annamalai are both pretty decent.
Death is nobody’s wish but is inevitable, the reasons whatsoever! The film makes a statement about it all!
