Pichaikkaran was one of the most successful films of Vijay Anthony which was acclaimed both critically and commercially. Toeing the current trend of making sequels (Fast X in English & PS2 in Tamil), the composer (his primary passion as well as profession), turned actor, director and editor has churned out a sequel that only manages to stand close to the first part rather than standing at par with that!

Performance-wise, he just manages to pass through with some standardized expressions that he usually registers and records!

Interestingly, Kavya Thapar is well noticeable in such an action packed flick.

Both as a composer and an editor, Vijay Anthony makes his presence felt but the length could have been pruned a bit.

The screenplay has a social angle to it as it talks about lack of sufficient health care, hunger, owing to poverty, marginalization of some people etc.

The crux of the plot is set around brain replacement surgery and the main characters revolve around that arena.

Vijay Gurumoorthy (Vijay Anthony) is a rich man whose subordinates conspire to usurp his wealth by unfair means.

When they hear about brain replacement surgery, they hatch a plot to exploit the situation against Vijay Gurumoorthy and as luck would have it, they stumble upon a look alike, Sathya (Vijay Anthony) and the rest happens as they plan it!

But what they do not expect is that Sathya has his own plans and gets them eliminated to execute his own plans!

The film makes a statement anti-Bikili concept too which is in fact, the film’s USP!

Sasi was the brain behind Pichaikkaran and Vijay Anthony has ventured a replacement at the helm to a reasonably satisfactory level!
