The film ‘License’ is produced by N. Jeevanandham under JRG Productions. Directed by Ganapathy Balamurugan, Vijay TV Super Singer fame Rajalakshmi Senthil is making her debut as an actress in Tamil cinema by playing the female lead.
The film also stars Radharavi, N. Jeevanandham, Vijay Bharat, Pasa. Karuppaiah Geetha Kailasam, Abhi Nakshatra, Tanya Ananya, Vaiyapuri, Namo Narayanan and others.
Kasi Viswanathan’s cinematography is composed by Baiju Jacob for this film. A. Ramanikanthan has written all the three songs of the film. Art – Siva. Veronica Prasad, a disciple of editor Antony, makes her debut as a cinematographer with this film.
The music and trailer launch of the film was held at Prasad Label, Saligramam, Chennai. Producer T. Siva, Director Pramera, Editor Antony, ‘Chandiyar’ Jagan, Madhu Charan of Rivers Woman Organization attended the event along with the film crew as special guests. Apart from that, 40 of producer Jeevanand’s friends who studied together as school friends and today hold huge responsibilities in various fields also participated in this event.
Producer T. Siva said, “Looking at this event, it doesn’t look like a music launch party. It looks like a reunion of old friends. Jeevanandham, who has become a producer with this film, is now a ‘license’ holder with the identity of a producer. I appreciate his guts to make such a film with big actors and a race behind OTD. This director, who received praise from the producer on this stage, is a role model for directors who are new to cinema.
I will call Rajalakshmi my beloved daughter. A strong woman from a humble background. He has got all the skills together. He who has won the hearts of the audience through his songs, will now occupy a place in the hearts of film fans as an actress through this film.”
Actress Abhi Nakshatra said, “I have signed a contract to act in this film even before the Ayali web series in which I acted. I am a big fan of Rajalakshmi Akka. Like the support given to Ayali, this film also needs your support,” he said.
Cinematographer Veronica Prasad says, “I took editor Antony as my guru and learned film editing for almost five years. This film will be a license for me in Tamil cinema,” he said.
Director and film critic Kable Shankar says, “Making a short film is the most difficult thing. But the producer of this film is not worried about how to do business and is confident that he has a good story. As the first reward for that faith, MRT has bought the music rights of this film. It is a positive film,” he said.
Editor Antony said, “They said this film is a small film. But when you look at this, it seems like a little bigger picture. It is an honor to be the first woman to become a film editor in cinema,” he said.
Talking about Jagan, the hero of the film, “Producer Jeevanandam is a good friend of mine. But when he said that he would make such a film, I was a little skeptical about director Ganapathi Balamurugan. Because that doubt came after acting in two films. But later I got to know his talent and the producer’s faith in the story,” he said.
Actress Rajalakshmi said, “I have never been nervous on any stage I have been on. But this is my first platform in cinema. It was a similar experience to what labor pain was like when I had my first child. I couldn’t believe it when the director told me the story of this film and told me that I would play the female lead in it. Even more so, I never imagined myself as a woman with a gun. When the director tells me, I have given another choice to other actors to act in this film. But I was amazed at the confidence he put in me when he told me that he couldn’t think of anyone but you for this heroine role.
Producers are generally positive in the beginning but eventually they change. But Jeevanandam sir never changed till the end. I have sung in many albums and a few films with Baiju’s music.
Tamil cinema has got a good music director through this film. I am proud to be in this film starring Abhi Nakshatra of Ayali fame. The surprise is that I am playing the heroine Nana, a mother of two children at the age of 32.
Once when Radharavi sir was talking to me, she jokingly said that she should not bring her husband to any future event. My husband did not come to this event today. I have worked with many acting and technical giants in this film. Ramanikanthan, who has penned the songs in this film, will dub the lyricist Yugabharathi in the future. Rajalakshmi is the combination of Saraswati and Lakshmi. She was a perfect fit for the role of a school teacher. Tanya Ananya, who has acted in Malayalam films including Ayyappan and Koshiyum, has played an excellent role in this film,” he said.
Producer N. Jeevanandham said, “The shooting of this film took five months. At that time I had never seen the director speak like this. He has spoken so much today. I have spoken all over the world as a self-confident speaker. But today speaking on the stage of the festival of the film I have produced is something new. In this film, Pasha Karupaiah played an important role and during the shooting, he even invited me to join his newly started party. I also played a role in this film. My father was a theater actor.. He acted in three films.. Following him I also started traveling in cinema.
Rajalakshmi who plays the female lead in this movie is a shameless actress and I agree that it would be perfect for her to act in this movie after seeing the way she used to attend huge gatherings and handle the people there. I cried when a scene with Abhi Nakshatra was shot. Although I am basically a poet, I have asked Ramani Kanthan to write all three songs in this film without writing any songs. I will start a fan club for him soon.

The film revolves around how a village is divided by a game of football and then brought together by a game of football.
