I have become acquainted with him during the period when he directed Thullada Manam and Thullum. He is a good hearted person who always behaves in the same way when he wins and when he sees failures in between and when he touches success again. Even though my son Vijay has acted in many films, Thullada Manamum Thullum is a milestone in his life. There are ten such films. To narrate the story of Thullatha Manamum Thullum, producer RB Chowdhury sent me director Ezhil. Before he told the story and went there, I called and asked RB Chowdhury when I wanted Vijay’s dates.
When I listen to the story, I don’t listen to the story thinking that I am Vijay’s father. I will listen to the story in the state of mind of an ordinary public. Let me ask some questions from the point of view of a sincere assistant director. Director Ezhil took in all the questions I asked and answered them in the film. If he has been in this film industry for so many years, God will elevate him who respects his mother so much. This is what I have seen in my life.
Now nobody respects screenplay. If you get a hero, you can make a film in any way you want. They think that we are a great director because the film runs for the hero. I say what’s on my mind Don’t take it wrongly. l am saying this because if the film is made with better story and screenplay, it will be a huge success. Today’s directors lack the maturity and courage to take criticism. Similarly, if I stood up and hugged the director after telling a story, it was the director AR Murugadoss. But after hearing the gun story I asked a question about the sleeper cells in the film as an assistant director. He who did not answer then answered my question in the film. That is his maturity.
When I asked Ezhil a similar question while telling a heart-wrenching story, he answered it in the film. The film celebrated its silver jubilee. Vijay is a big superstar then? No.. that story lifted him up. It was after that film that Vijay got more fans in Kerala. Whoever starred in that film would have seen a silver jubilee. The reason is the screenplay.
Youth come with a good story. Be responsible for yourself. Today’s directors should shape the heroes of their films if they want to create youth who care about the society. Because today’s youth follow heroes. I touch your leg and ask you to say something good for at least three minutes in the film.
Vimal was doing good films in the early days. In between it turned a little up and down. That’s what cinema means.. Recently I saw a web series called Pravinth starring Vimal on OTT. “Looking at the number 25, it looks like the 25th week of Desingu Raja. After watching Thullada Manamum Thullum I told his editor that this movie is going to be a huge hit. After hearing this, he came to my house the next day. Similarly, I told Chaudhry sir that this film will be a hit film like Nattami in Super Good Films. It was also a hit. Observing the people around us has a lot more to offer than thinking and creating a joke. We have finished watching the recursion to see a scene where the train is going in the background with Radhika near Mettupalayam during the shooting of the eastbound train. But when the train came, Radhika was standing without dancing and not listening to the song playing in the background. We were all shocked. “Director Ezhil is from Super Good Films, the school I studied in and the temple I lived in. Now RB Chowdhury sir is producing films in Malayalam and Telugu. And those are the newbie directors. When I asked him how many directors he introduced, he said that he did not know. He has produced 98 films and is now nearing his hundredth film. Coming from such a school, I came here to appreciate director Ezhil.
Creators never age. May director Egil always be 25 years old mentally. Only then will the younger pictures and scenes come. You get old when you make a film. But there is no need to worry about it at all. Even at this age, Superstar Rajinikanth is acting in films. He was not worried about his age.

“I should have taken this ceremony. I have played the villain in six films directed by Eghil. When he got a break after Diwali, he came and sat in a quiet place in the director’s association. It was only in Manam Kothi Paravai that he introduced Sivakarthikeyan as the lead actor after watching me speak jokes at the Directors Association 40th anniversary function and then he turned me into a comedy actor. In a film, one hero will act in the first part and the same hero or even a different hero in the second part. But I was the villain in the first part of Desingu Raja as well. I am the villain in this second part as well. It is not true that as some people say that Ezhil sir sits happily on the set and we act for the song. As much as he wants to buy work from the actor, he buys it right. Otherwise one cannot give so many successful films continuously.

If Suri is a hero today, it is because of Ezhil sir.. Suri acted wonderfully in two scenes in the role given to him in Diwali. After watching his performance, I cast him in my first film Vanilla Kabadi Kuzhu Ezhil sir has produced many actors and technicians. Many actors don’t know his worth. He laughs at the ten scenes we say. But he chooses only what his fans will enjoy. It is a big thing that he has been making films continuously for 25 years. My wish is that when my son grows up and goes to college, I should still be directing films so that my father does not say that he was once a director. Ezhil sir has achieved it,” he said.

“I have been close to him even before he became a director. We have gone to many companies and told the story of his two-wheeled vehicle. Even though the story was said to be super everywhere, it kept getting delayed due to various reasons. We have told that story to all the actors that you can’t even imagine. At one point, when he got frustrated and decided to leave for Dubai, Eghil even tried to hire me as an assistant to another director.
The Silver Jubilee hit was One Man Show. That means it is a story created by only one person without any discussion. During this shoot, when he was filming a scene in which Vijay had to cry thinking that his mother had died, Vijay suddenly asked him to play Eshil Sir once. In the next moment, Eghil acted crying in that scene. Vijay, who was shocked to see that, did not know if I can act to this extent.. The scene in which he acted said that he will try as much as possible, and it made a huge impact when it was released. Usually an art film has a standing ovation at the climax of the film. But if the audience stands up and applauds at the climax for a commercial film, it is for a film that has no jumps and jumps.”

“I have 30 years of friendship with Ezil. Those who have spoken here have worked as his assistants. I have worked together with Egilum Parthiban sir. Later I have worked with Ezhil in three films. “Following the film Desingu Raja, I am also working with Ezhil sir in the second part of that film. A huge star cast has acted in this film. He would never think of wasting anyone, be it a small character or a big character. He thinks that dialogue should be available to everyone. “I was introduced to Ezhil through my friend Krishnamurthy a few days before the shooting of Tullada Manam and Tullum started. He asked him if he would join him as an assistant director and introduced him.. But as he had only met him once, he had forgotten his face and name. During the pooja of the film, I went to him and inquired about a different name. After that, after four days, he turned it on
I came to know Nar Egil. So it was not possible to work with him in that film,” he said.

“When I asked the producer Ravichandran if there was a need for such a function for Thullada Manamum Thullum, he said that you have to work in this film just like that film, and that is why I am holding these two festivals together. I don’t know any work other than cinema. So I will work hard for the given work. I was working as a first director in my first film. Now I am working as an assistant director in this film.
The first part of Desinguraaja was a normal story. When it came to the second part, many people asked me if it will be as spectacular as the first part. Vimal would have made fun of it, but he would not have made it as mature as this. He is acting very well in this. Jana is also doing amazingly well. There are three heroines in the film. They are also acting well. Vimal has already emerged as the protagonist. I wish Jana will become a great hero if he acts in a good film. I am confident that Vimal will reach another peak after this film.
Cinematographer Selva, who worked with me in Thullatha Manamum Thullum, is also working with me in this film. Similarly, after Poovellam Un Vasam, Vidyasagar has composed music for this film of mine. Like that film, he has given excellent songs in this film as well. The film’s producer Ravichandran’s son Jana has played another hero. But he had already told me not to think of him as a producer’s son anywhere.
The shooting of this film is going smoothly. All the onlookers ask what kind of fish market is this, it is so crowded. I have never directed a film with such a large crowd in any of my films before. However, when I saw the scenes shot with them, it was amazing. I had a workshop for this film. Everyone who participated in it made me cry. I am the one who thinks that those who are looking for such an opportunity should not be left behind. That’s why I told my assistant directors not to send them back, give them a role.
Now it is very easy to find a producer. Many producers are coming. But at that time there were only five or six big producers. Even if they like the story told by the new directors, they will not trust them and give the film. But if the story is good then Chowdhury sir will give a chance to direct the film. He believed that much. Even though the movie Thullada Manamum Thullum is now on air, many people are watching it. I think a film should transcend generations. In that way, my comedy films are also going to the next level.
Both Vijay and Ajith were budding actors when Thullada Manamum Thullum and Poovellam Un Vasam were made. He said to build it afresh. But I made the film by putting the set. Even now people say that Ajith sir and Jyotika were beautiful in this film, she played the daughter-in-law of Sivakumar in that film.
When I asked for time to meet Vijay sir regarding this function, he immediately asked me to come. He shared many things in detail including his old films and the film he is currently acting in. After many days, he was speaking from his heart. It was almost the first film for Sivakarthikeyan when he made Manam Kothi Parivi. It was a re-entry for me. I didn’t have a big budget for that film either. I took that picture in my village. Sivakarthikeyan used to sleep in the paddock during the night shooting. Such a dedicated actor. He knew it then. That is why today he has achieved this peak.
My mom has a great sense of humor. So naturally I have that too. Vikram Prabhu is very calm. Prabhu sir called me alone and told me that we don’t know nativity in our village.. You should buy it. Similarly Vikram Prabhu will do whatever I say best.
Vishnu Vishal had acted in some art films before acting in my film. So while acting in my film, he and I were not on set for the first two or three days. The director went to Cella and asked me to cast as an actor, but if I read it a bit more, he would say no, no. But after ten days of shooting, see the film in editingAfter that, he started doing exactly what I said. He came to me on the last day of the shoot and asked me to reshoot even the scene from the first day. He is so committed to acting.
It was amazing that I got SA Rajkumar as the music director for my first film. Rajkumar is a good poet and storyteller. Vairamuthu, who was shocked to see some lines written by him, wrote that he wanted to beat it and wrote the song called Innisai Pidivaruru. On the first day of Thullada Manamum Thullum shooting, I was nervous because I had big actors like Vijay, so I shot Tutu song on the first day itself.
