Actor turned director Dhanush who has carved a special for himself as a filmmaker through Power Pandi and Raayan both of whom were emotional /action films, has come up with a feel good and breezy romantic flick that deliberates on love, break up, patch up, moving on etc in the contemporary scenario presented in contemporary style.
Barring a few familiar faces, the film cast consists of less known faces but almost all of them deliver well by their uninhibited performances.
The film is colorful right through thanks to the camera work of Leon Britto and of course, the scintillating score of G. V. Prakash Kumar – both BGM as well the songs – being impressive!
The plot is about the love between a lad and a lass, the former hailing from a middle class family while the latter, born with a silver spoon, being the daughter of a business tycoon!
On expected lines, the status-conscience father ridicules her daughter ‘s lover who draws a thin line between self respect and ego!
His flow of words on a rainy night at his lover hurts her beyond the limits of tolerance and she moves on notwithstanding the fact that he had spoken thus only after becoming aware of her father’s health status!
Time flies and now the hero is now considering a new marriage proposal prior to which he attends the wedding of his ex, much to his heart burn! These scenes are hilarious! He meets another girl who oversees the wedding arrangements, slowly falling for the hero, while he is attending the wedding of his ex!
When the hero tells his girl with whom the alliance is being contemplated, she acknowledges and accepts him.
The climax at the airport is chaotic but fun filled!
The song sequence with the girls draped in sarees that reflect the saree draping style of a particular community is unwanted and unnecessary! It could have been avoided. Title courtesy-Kannadasan’s lyric from a song tuned in by MSV-TKR in Policekaran Magal!
In all, a feel good romantic entertainer!
