Set against a rural backdrop, this flick talks about empowerment of women with the film’s protagonist played by Sheela Rajkumar a Silambattam exponent who nurses ambitions of qualifying herself academically well so that she can go places in her chosen career.
Her dad, who is an innocent villager, strives for his best to fulfill the wishes of his daughter counting on her responsible nature.
Hari Krishnan who runs a photo studio is a suitor to her hand.
Owing to societal pressures, Vembu, the protagonist who wants to break new grounds in Silambattam as well as in her career, decides to get into wedlock.
Luckily, her husband is very understanding and promises her that he will spare no effort to support her to achieve her goals!
But a freak accident leaves him blind.
Hence, Vembu becomes home bound nursing her husband as well as taking care of the household.
Meanwhile, at her leisure, she trains a couple of young hearts in Silambattam.
Also, she learns photography and pursues her husband ‘s profession and becomes a professional in that arena too!
A chance meeting with the local MLA (Late Marimuthu) facilitates her to get a job and needless to mention, she goes places.
The film ends on a positive note proclaiming that a dedicated and determined woman can achieve great things and would stop at nothing to reach her goals!
Manikandan Murali ‘s music passes muster. A Kumaran’s camera transports the viewers to a village setting in
an effective manner!
With all probabilities and possibilities, Vembu should win at the box-office!
It is worth noting that the film was a prized entry at the Ahmadabad International Film Festival.
