Actor Anbu Mayilsamy, actress Fatima Babu, Ganesh, Power Star Srinivasan, Ambika, Praveen Lal Vani, Shakeela, Dhananjayan, Vasanthapalan, Srikanth Deva, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Jovica Vijayakumar, producers Mathiyazhagan, Kiran and Sharmila attended the music and preview launch of the film, which will be released in June.
Speaking at the event, director Vasanthapalan said, “I have been watching Vanitha madam since the moment she came to act. Her struggle is huge. The challenges she faces as a woman are also huge. At every stage, this society has been criticizing her. I am also constantly observing this.
She also participated in an event I attended and shared many details about her own life. I have also seen her shed tears during that. Even today, in this patriarchal society, we see women as an oppressed community. We continue to treat them that way. We keep excluding them as a gender. We find fault with whatever they wear or do. We introduce culture and tradition into it. We keep imposing everything and creating problems. From such a place, Vanitha’s struggle is huge.
A man can even marry ten thousand wives. He can also talk about it proudly. When a woman from a society that considers this proud, when she does this, they continue to criticize her and make her an object of ridicule, it is happy to see her bravely facing all this and fighting. Whether I am a director or not, I want to support everything she does as a woman as a man.
Here, women have to raise their voices for women. Especially the struggle she is waging in the film industry, and especially the fact that she is sitting here as a director is a matter of pride and joy.
Everyone has a story to tell. This world is a patriarchal society as a whole. I want women to come here to tell their stories.
Currently, there is a publishing house called Her Stories. This publishing house has started telling the stories of a hundred women. Women should tell their stories as directors. I think that will be a new story. I want cinema and direction to be democratized. Not only men, but everyone should come forward to tell their stories. Currently, an elderly woman is dancing with her grandson/granddaughter on YouTube and uploading that video. When you look at this world of shorts, you can see women expressing their talent from every home. In that way, Vanitha has a story to tell this society. They also have a story to tell.
If you ask Shakila for a story, there will be a story that no one in the world has ever told. She can tell that story. When we see Shakila in relation to lust, she has compelling tear-jerking stories to tell. Similarly, Vanitha also has a story to tell. That story is Mrs. and Mr.
They have acted in a film that I directed. Vanitha Vijayakumar is different from the one seen from the outside. Vanitha Vijayakumar is different when she works with her.
