The audio launch of the film ‘Maaman’, starring actor Soori in the lead role, was held in Chennai.
Directed by Prashanth Pandiaraj, ‘Maaman’ stars Soori, Raj Kiran, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Swasika, Bala Saravanan, Jayaprakash, Viji Chandrasekhar, Geetha Kailasam, Nikila Shankar, Master Prageeth Sivan, Chaya Devi and many others. Dinesh Purushothaman has handled the cinematography and Hesham Abdul Wahab has composed the music for this film. The film, which is based on the mother-uncle relationship, is produced by producer K. Kumar under Lark Studios. The film is distributed by famous distributor Chidambaram under Sri Kumaran Films.
The audio launch of the film, which will be released in theaters worldwide on the 16th, was held in Chennai on a grand scale. The film crew was joined by directors Lokesh Kanagaraj, Mari Selvaraj, Siruthai Siva, Pandiraj, Pon Ram, Ravikumar, and producers Five Star Kathiresan, T. Siva, Arun Vishwa, and K. Kalaiyarasu as special guests.

Director Prashanth Pandiaraj is my assistant. He participated in the program called Tomorrow’s Director. I worked as a judge for that program. Prashanth will turn it into a screenplay and direct it.’ I hesitated at first. Then I told him the story of this film. Although there are many relationships in the family like mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, brother, sister, if there is a special relationship… it is the maternal uncle relationship. If there is a relationship that is in the position of mother after the mother, then it is the maternal uncle. Many films have been released about maternal uncles. In this, we have told the relationship between a little boy and his maternal uncle. I told this story to director Vetrimaaran a year ago. He also said that it was good. After hearing this story, Prashanth Pandiaraj said, ‘Brother, this story has happened in my family too.’
He said that this film is necessary for today’s times and started directing the film. The important actor of this film is that little boy. Who is he? I asked the director. The producer suggested three child stars for that role. I suggested ten child stars. While traveling in the car, I started taking photos of all the children I saw in front of me on my phone. The shooting also started. After that, the director introduced Master Prageeth Sivan. It was only after that I knew that he was the director’s son. That boy also acted very well.
