The trailer of ‘Kayilan’ directed by Arul Ajith and produced by B.T. Arakumar under the banner of BTK Films was attended by film industry leaders

The trailer launch of ‘Kayilan’, directed by debutant director Arul Ajith and starring Shivatha and Rambha Pandian in the lead roles, was held in Chennai on behalf of BTK Films.

‘Kayilan’, which will be released in theaters worldwide on July 25th, stars Shivatha, Ramya Pandian, Prajin, Manobala, Gnanasambandham, Abhishek Joseph, Anupama Kumar and many others. The film, which has cinematography by Amin, has Karthik Harsha, Hari S.R. Music composed by.

Directors K Bhagyaraj, Gaurav Narayanan, producers K Rajan, and Dhananjayan were present as special guests along with the film crew at the preview launch ceremony of this thrilling thriller.

Speaking at the event, producer B.T. Arakumar said, “First of all, I would like to express my greetings and gratitude to the special guests who have come here.
As soon as my brother K. Rajan arrived here, he asked what the story of the film ‘Kailan’ was? Crime story? Family story? To tell the truth, I don’t know what it is. I didn’t even look at that page because of my trust in director Ajith. He said to come to the shooting site for just one day for some ritual. I went there for a few minutes for that.

Anbuthambi Arul Ajith has thought better about this film than I think. He has worked hard to bring it to the best screen epic. I have seen it every day. I also watched the preview of this film here with you.

The heroine of this film is Shivatha, a golden sister. It is rare to see her actions in cinema like hers, which are always done humbly. She should get a big success with this film.

I came to cinema from a theater family. My maternal uncle V K Sakthivel was a great actor in Manapparai. He worked like a brother of Kalaignanath. He has acted in films like ‘Periya Marudhu’ and ‘Mridanga Chakravarthy’.

My grandfather is also a theater actor. In that way, the feeling of art is also in my blood. I was waiting to achieve success in the film industry one day.

When I came to Chennai in 1988-89 with the desire to become an actor, it was director T. Rajendhar who diverted me. I have told him this. But if I had expressed this desire to K. Bhagyaraj at that time, I would have become an actor. I have been working in the Tamil film industry since 1989. But this is the first time I have produced the film ‘Kailan’.

I express my heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to the actors and actresses who acted in this film and the technicians who worked on it,” he said.

Music composer Karthik Harsha said, ”I thank the director and the producer for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to compose the songs of the film. There are a total of three songs in this film. All the songs are well composed. Hari has composed the background music for the film. This film will be released on July 25. I request everyone to watch, enjoy and support it,” he said.

Background composer Hari said, ”The story of this film is told in an interesting way. It will receive a huge response after its release. The artists have given their wonderful work. I request everyone to visit the cinema hall and watch and enjoy it,” he said.

Director Gaurav Narayanan said, ”At the end of the preview of this film, ‘We must fight. The message is that ‘You get everything if you fight’. In cinema, you have to fight to create a story. You have to fight to find a hero for that story. If you want to bring it out, you have to find a producer. You have to fight for that too. You have to fight for the release of the film after overcoming all this.

Director Ajith is on this stage only after a lot of struggles. First love, first kiss are unforgettable. Similarly, the first film and the first stage are unforgettable. This is like the mindset of a student who is waiting for the results after writing the Plus Two exams. I feel the anguish inside him. I congratulate and thank the producer of this film and him at this moment.

Today, people decide which film is big and which is small. The media decides. At the same time, I would say ‘content wins’. If the content is good, people support it in a big way. In today’s situation, if a film wants to be successful, there must be content, research and reasonable work for it. ‘s support is assured. This is also possible for the recently released films ‘DNA’ and ‘Morgan’.

These days, the audience is smarter than the directors. As soon as the director starts narrating the first scene, the audience tells them that the climax will be like this. Therefore, the films of those directors who think of the audience as more intelligent and direct the film more intelligently than them will be successful. When I look at the preview of this film, it seems that it will be a thriller. If this thriller is a meaningful thriller, it will be a huge success by 200 percent,” he said.

Producer Dhananjayan said, ”I came here because I was attracted by the invitation extended by director Arul Ajith to attend this festival. Apart from that, after working in the corporate sector for 25 years, Shivatha is the heroine of the film ‘Zero’, the first film I bought when I entered the film business on my own in 2016. Since she has acted in this film, I happily agreed to come. All the films he chooses to act in will be good. He has played the heroine of the story in this film. He has played a majestic and stylish police officer. I wish this film a huge success for him.

I want to congratulate the producer of this film. Let us all make sure that the shooting has started by eight in the morning. For this, we will go to the shooting site. Director Gaurav Narayanan and I are working on the film ‘Sikaram Thodu’ together. I will go to the shooting site of that film by seven thirty. I will insist that the shooting should start at eight. Only if we do this can we complete the film as planned in a short period of time. This is how they plan and conduct shooting in Malayalam.

A film will be successful only if it reaches a wide audience. In that way, I wish this film ‘Kaiyalan’ will also be released and reach the people and be successful,” he said.

Actor Prajin said, ”I thank the director and the producer for giving me the opportunity to act in this film. This is my second film to be released this year. I am very excited.

Currently, in cinema, even though we give good content, we are lagging behind in promoting it properly. Only a few films succeed through word of mouth. ‘Kayilan’ has emerged as a good film.

I request director Arul Ajith to continue directing films, but he should give opportunities to emerging actors and newcomers.

As I said in the preview of this film, we have to fight. Only by fighting will we succeed. This applies to everyone. Wish this film success,” he said.

Professor Dr. K. Gnanasambandham, speaking, ”They said that there are many new faces in this film and I am also a new face. When Kamal Haasan wrote the screenplay for ‘Virumaandi’, I helped him so that it would have the dialect of Madurai soil. Suddenly he asked me if I was acting. I was scared. Because it is a film about cows. However, Kamal said that I will catch cows, you hold the mic. I agreed because it suited me. I have acted in fifty films till now.

I will tell the directors that I can only play a suitable role when the story comes up. They have given me a small role in this film. They took great care of me on the set.

I am a cinema fan first and foremost. So I do not criticize any film I watch with the intention of hurting anyone’s feelings. I get upset when some people make harsh criticisms.

Nowadays, people decide films like elections. The preview of this film has a pre-story summary. Who is that Kailan? What will happen next? It has created expectations. In those days, there would be a pre-story summary of the film along with the song book. People would go to the film only after watching it.

Everyone has worked hard for this film. This film will definitely be a success. We are waiting for your verdict, thank you,” she said.

Speaking, actress Shivatha said, ”Thank you to everyone who has been supporting me continuously from ‘Nedunjalai’ to ‘Kailan’. I work on only one Tamil film a year, but you have been supporting me continuously. I request that this film should also have that support. I am waiting with confidence that this film will become a huge success after its release,” he said.

Producer K. Rajan said, “‘Kailan’ is a film produced by my son Arakumar. It is my film. Arakumar was the director of the Washermanpet Kamaraj Met in 1991.
Regulation Higher Secondary School. At that time I was the president of the Tamil Nadu Matriculation School Association. He met me and said, ‘I have come from Pudukkottai. I want to join the association.’ I allowed him to speak then, and the spark in his speech flew. I predicted that he would become a great person right then.

He continued to work hard and was courageous. Despite living in poverty, as soon as he earned some money, he started a political party called Dravida Vizhipunarchi Kazhagam. He ran a nursery school and a political party together. After that, I met him and advised him not to join a political party, but to join some political party. After that, I joined him in the Bharatiya Janata Party. He held a function in Mylapore and joined his party with the Bharatiya Janata Party. After that, he became the state vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

After that, M.K. Stalin participated in a wedding ceremony held in Pudukkottai. At that function, he said that M.K. Stalin is the one who is qualified to rule Tamil Nadu as the Chief Minister. He was immediately expelled from the Bharatiya Janata Party. But after receiving an invitation from M.K. Stalin, he joined the DMK. He was appointed as the spokesperson of the DMK. Today, he is also working as Stalin’s trusted right hand. He is doing many good things.

In 2001, when I was producing small films, he said, ‘Make me a member of the Producers’ Council. I will also produce a film.’ I said, ‘Wait a little.’

After that, he was my protector even when I contested for the post of Distributors’ Association President.

Arasa Kumar, who wanted to produce a film 25 years ago, has become a producer today. Today, he has entrusted a film to a director and become a producer.

Currently, seventy-five percent of Tamil films are titled in English. But he has a beautiful Tamil name, ‘Kailan’. There are many Tamil names in books like Kamparamayanam and Thirukkural, which can be used. I applaud the director for naming this film in Tamil.

The trailer of the film is as interesting as an English film. Its re-recording is first class, editing is first class, camera is first class. Since all these first class features are there, people will watch this film as their first choice.

I request young directors to make films that do not diminish Tamil culture and are rich in Tamil culture.
Today, directors include scenes of women drinking alcohol in films. I humbly request you to avoid this because women are the ones who save the family. They save the children. They make the children study.

The wages of the workers working in films made with a budget of 300 crores and 400 crores should be increased. The theater fees for films made with small investment should be reduced. If we do this, the poor will come to the theater. The films will be successful. Producers will survive. I request the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to document this,” he said.

Director Arul Ajith said, “If we want to introduce assistant directors, we need a producer. In that way, I owe my whole life to producer P.D. Arsakumar, who trusted me and gave me the opportunity to direct this film.

From the day the shooting of the film began to the end, he never came to the shooting site. He came only one day to insist on our work. He gave me complete freedom to that extent. My team and I worked together and completed the film. I have not yet shown it to the producer, but I will show it soon. The producer has such faith in me. I believe that I have kept the faith he has placed in me.

I always want to be a director for producers. They have earned it hard and given us an opportunity. The opportunity they give us is our life. We have to save it properly. Only then will other producers also trust us and invest in us. Only then will we be able to deliver good films.

The meaning of ‘Kailan’ is, one who does not make mistakes, one who is constant. One who achieves. This is a Sangam era word. It can be called Zero Errors and The Perfectionist. We have kept this word because it is appropriate for this story. Also, there is a surprise for everyone in the climax scene of the film. We have kept this word because it is appropriate for that too.

When the work on this film started, the producer told me, ‘You are going to present a commercial film. If you get a chance anywhere in it, tell a good message. Try to tell it.’ There is a message in this film. And in that. There is a message in the climax.

In my view, thriller films, especially investigative thriller films, are very patriarchal. Hence, we decided that the film should have two main characters, and both of them should be women. For that, we first chose actress Shivatha, who I am amazed by her performance in films like ‘Athe Kangal’ and ‘Nedunchalai’. If we have talented actresses like these, the director’s job is easy.

If we have completed the work of the film quickly, Shivatha’s contribution is a lot. She is a wonderful human being. If she is on the set, she will embrace everyone.

Actress Ramya Pandian followed her and gave her full cooperation. She is also a talented actress.

Also, Professor Gnanasambandham plays the role of the Finance Minister in the film. Many others have acted in the film, including Manobala, Gopinath, Anupama Kumar.

The film has 115 background voices, so the characters have taken their places in this film. So we have completed the film with great difficulty. The film will be released on July 25th. I request everyone to support this film,” he said.

Director K. Bhagyaraj said, “My best wishes to all the actors, actresses and technicians working in this film.

While speaking, K. Rajan mentioned giving the title in Tamil. As soon as I heard that, I thought about my films. I had named one of them ‘Darling Darling Darling’. After that, I had a song called ‘Daddy Daddy’ in one film. I also had a Hindi song called ‘Betta Betta Mera Betta’. All this is because cinema is for the people. The intention is to do what the people like. It is not the intention to avoid it and work against Tamil. Tamil is what matters to us.

If you make a good film, it will definitely be successful. No one can stop it from being successful. The best example of this is ‘Tourist Family’. I sincerely appreciate the director of this film.

As soon as I heard the name of this film ‘Kailan’, I felt like studying Tamil again. Then the director told me the meaning of the name ‘Kailan’.

They sent me the preview of this film. I watched it. The essence of it is struggle. There is no life without struggle. There was a huge struggle in the first film I worked with my guru. There was no company that did not take up his story ‘Mayulu’. The shooting of that film also did not start as planned.

Kamal Haasan did not have a call sheet. After that, the producer gave us hope. The film ’16 Vayathinile’, which was released after a huge struggle, became a huge success. There was also a struggle in the second film ‘Kezhake Pogum Rail’. We succeeded only after facing all that.

Director Balachander left his government job after directing two films. But the director of this film suddenly said no to the job and became a director in the cinema. “I would like to thank his wife and his family for understanding and supporting her husband’s wishes,” he said.
