Following former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi ‘s assassination, very many Sri Lankan refugees were taken into custody from Refugees’ Camps and were held back as Prisoners of Investigation and were imprisoned at Vellore Fort Prison! The screenplay of this flick features the factual happenings in a gripping manner.
M. Sasikumar is one refugee who is imprisoned there along with many others.
His wife Lijomol Jose has just delivered a female child and is eagerly awaiting the acquittal and arrival of her husband.
Years hurry past and the little girl is ready to meet her Dad at the prison after taking permission from the authorities.
But things do not happen as planned.
The cop in charge has a grudge against Sasikumar and gives him maximum problems.
Meanwhile, Sasikumar and his friends plan to escape from the prison which they eventually execute successfully.
But then, there is an unexpected turn at the end.
As the film is based on those real life incidents and the proceedings are truly heart moving, especially the process of prison-break!
Sasikumar has added one more feather to his cap as an actor! Lijomol Jose is in her usual elements.
A true presentation from Sathyasiva that deliberates on the treatment meted out to prisoners of investigation even long after the case was resolved and those guilty, eliminated showcasing police brutality in full focus!
Ghibran’s background score is brilliant.
