Chief Minister Stalin wants to see the movie Thirukkural – Thol.Thirumavalavan’s request!!
Produced by ‘Ramana Communications’, which produced the life story of Perunthalaivar Kamaraj as ‘Kamaraj’ and the life story of Gandhi as “Welcome Back Gandhi”, ‘Thirukkural’ has been released as a grand work centered on Thirukkural. The film is directed by director A.J. Balakrishnan.

It has been released today as a work that should be appreciated in the Tamil community. Thirukkural is a great epic created with the theme of Thirukkural, a work by Iyan Thiruvalluvan, which is revered as a world-famous work, as its theme.
The social aspect is the only primary theme of this film. AJ Balakrishnan has created and presented to us in a film in just two and a half hours how Tamil society lived as a cultured society two thousand years ago, how morality flourished, how bravery was, how sweet family life and home life were. Even today, we need Iyan Thiruvalluvan, we need Thirukkural. This society should not go astray. Thirukkural is a film made with the sense of responsibility that it should regulate itself as a society that has flourished with morality. The fact that it is named Thiruvalluvar instead of Thirukkural shows how responsible director AJ Balakrishnan’s vision is.
Chembur Jayaraj’s writing is a testament to Iyan Thiruvalluvan’s ability to speak Tamil naturally in this film. Each character has displayed their acting skills well. Cameraman Edwin has also beautifully captured the film scenes for us. The songs are also brought to life by the music of musician Ilayaraja.
He has given life to this film through music. This is a film that every Tamil citizen should watch. He has chosen voices appropriate to this time and made it a theme and presented this film to the Tamil community. Therefore, it is my wish that the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu should watch this film. By watching this film, he himself will see the greatness that he is doing for Iyan Thiruvalluvar. It will be the greatness that he is doing for Thirukkural.
When the Muthamila scholar Kalaignar first ascended to the throne, he ordered that every bus should have the Thirukkural of Ayan Thiruvalluvan. He set up a kottam for Valluvar. He installed the Vanuyara statue at the confluence of the three seas at Kumari Point. He created a vocal performance. The priority he gave to the voice is immense. The last scene of the film is the statue of Ayan Thiruvalluvan standing upright in the sky at Kumari Point. The importance of Thirukkural is recorded in every scene in the film in such a way that it can be deeply imprinted in our hearts.
In a context where honor killings are increasing and opposition to love is spreading strongly in the social sphere, the scene where Thiruvalluvar explains how sacred love is, the scene where Iyan Thiruvalluvar advises the king, the scene where he emphasizes the non-pelting of stones, Iyan Thiruvalluvan’s concern that the Tamil society will be ruined if Tamils clash with each other due to enmity, and he takes the lead in advising the kings for this, all these visual systems give us many new information. Iyan Thiruvalluvan did not live as a mere poet and a great scholar who could write songs, this film teaches us that Iyan Thiruvalluvan was a great scholar who lived with a sense of responsibility to eliminate the miseries prevailing in the society, to eradicate enmity, to spread love, to cherish love.
This film has been made as a separate film for Thirukkural in the history of world cinema. Many more films can be made based on this Thirukkural. My request is that Mr. AJ Balakrishnan should also make two Thirukkurals next. I believe that AJ Balakrishnan will come forward for that.
Everyone who can work for the people in the political arena should watch this film. If the Chief Minister sees it, it will reach the people as an additional message, so I request the Chief Minister to watch it, thank you.
