Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana – Introducing the World’s Greatest Epic!

The Ramayana, which originated 5000 years ago, is revered by 2.5 billion people around the world. The epic story of Ramayana is unfolding in two parts on a grand scale. The story brings together renowned talents from Hollywood and India. The story is being produced by
Nitesh Tiwari, Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and 8-time Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG, in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Ramayana is being shot for IMAX and the first part will be released worldwide on Diwali 2026 and the second part on Diwali 2027.

July 3, 2025: The epic ‘Ramayana: The Introduction’ has been given a grand global release to the fans. The epic battle between the great powers of the story, Rama vs Ravana, is the opening act. The event is being showcased in nine Indian cities and on a billboard in New York’s Times Square. Produced by director and producer Namit Malhotra and Yash, Ramayana brings together Oscar-winning technicians, Hollywood’s best creatives, and India’s talent in acting and storytelling. The audience is set to experience a grand cinematic experience like never before.

Story:
Set in a timeless era, the universe is a place where the trinity of gods, sages, humans, and demons, Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva the destroyer, are on equal footing when suddenly a power never seen before arises.

An unruly child becomes the indestructible king Ravana, feared by all. His roar shook the sky, his purpose is clear! It is to destroy the protecting god Vishnu. He believes that he has stood against his race.

To stop him, Vishnu comes to earth in his weakened form. As Prince Ram!

The battle begins between Ram vs Ravana, good vs evil, light vs darkness. This is the Ramayana.

Cast and crew:

Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Pan-Indian superstar and co-producer Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as the beloved Sita, Sunny Deol as Indian cinema’s action hero Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Ram’s loyal brother Lakshmana and many more.

For the first time, Oscar-winning legends Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman have joined forces to create a new cinematic symphony.

Hollywood’s top stunt directors – Terry Notary (Avengers, Planet of the Apes) and Guy Norris (Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa) are shaping the epic battle between gods and demons. Renowned production designers Ravi Bansal (Dune 2, Aladdin) and Ramsey Avery (Captain America, Tomorrowland) are on hand to deliver a grand cinematic experience.
