FIDE (International Chess Federation) World Schools Team Championship 2025

Won all six rounds and reached the top spot
The FIDE World Schools Team Championship 2025 will be held in Washington, D.C., USA from August 02 to 07.
For the first time from India, players from Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School from Tamil Nadu have traveled to the United States to participate in this tournament.
On behalf of this school, under the leadership of the school’s coach S. Velavan, players Keerthireddy (WFM), Aswath.S (IM), Dakshinarun (FM), Ilamparithi (IM) AR, Pranav KP (FM) have participated.
A total of eight rounds. They won four consecutive rounds against schools from Mongolia, Hungary, Austria, America, Kazakhstan, and Sri Lanka. In the seventh round to be held tomorrow, they will face the top-ranked Seed Educational Complex of Kazakhstan.
Chess enthusiasts predict that the strong Kazakhstan will beat the Sri Lankan school and move towards the top and are close to victory.
The event, which will be held at Episcopal High School in Washington, D.C., USA, will feature over 250 participants and teams from top schools from 55 countries around the world.
