re-release, 25 years later after having successfully hit the screens in 2000!
Seasoned film producer A. M. Rathnam had bankrolled it!Fresh from the success of Vaali, S. J. Suryah wrote and directed it!
A pre-release event of this forthcoming re-release, Kushi, was held amidst the presence of A. M. Rathnam,
S. J.Suryah, Sakthivelan of Sakthi Film Factory, Andrew, a former A. D. of S. J. Suryah and Murugan, a friend of the financier attended and spoke on the occasion!
In his address,
We are re-releasing Kushi as a new film as it has been upgraded and it will be released in 4 K!
It was Editor Vijayan who recommended S. J. Suryah’s and spoke about Vaali and after watching Vaali, I met S. J. Suryah and asked him to do a film for me with any hero of his choice!
The rest is history!
We made Kushi in Telugu too with Pawan Kalyan and it was made in Hindi too!
It proved successful in all the languages!
Sakthivelan of Sakthi Film Factory mentioned that if the Media could ask for once more (Kattipudi Kattipudi song), imagine what will be its response in theatres!

Gilli, also produced by A. M. Rathnam was possibly the highest collecting film in the recent times when it was re-released!
It was a coming of age film 25 years ago; now too, it could be branded as a coming of age film!
Wherever she is, Mumtaz should watch that Kattipudi song sequence and experience the response of the audience!
In his speech, S. J. Suryah said he was awestruck by the response of the Press and would expect the same kind of reception from the viewers too!
As a director, I visualize the movie almost one lakh times whenever I narrate the script and scenes to the cast & crew!
Today, I saw the song sequence in the mindset of an audience.
Kattipudi song, I visualized it as a rehashed version of Senthamizh Thenmozhiyaal song and I requested Deva Sir to come up with such a tune! Full credit to him, he came up good tunes!
I recollect the contributions of the late personalities, Jeeva and Vivek who gave their best!
Andrew narrated a few experiences during the making of the movie!
Well, a big victory awaits this re-release film, the pre-release event of which bore testimony to that!
