The resolutions to be approved at the 69th Annual General Meeting of our Association are as follows…
1) For the development of our traditional South Indian Actors Association and for the welfare of its members,
by extending the use of the leased land allotted for the construction of residential buildings in Payyanur, near Chennai, for an additional three years and issuing a new government order,
by reducing the entertainment tax collected by local bodies from 8% to 4% for Tamil films released in cinemas,
by forming an awards committee to present Tamil Nadu Government Awards for films that have been pending for many years,
and by continuously giving encouragement and hope to the film industry,
and the Honorable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Shri. M.K. Stalin, the Association member and the Honorable Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri. Udhayanidhi Stalin The approval of the Council is sought for the resolution expressing heartfelt gratitude to them, the Hon. Minister of Revenue, Mr. K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, the Hon. Minister of Public Relations and Tamil Development, Mr. M.P. Swaminathan, the Hon. Ministers, Government Secretaries, Government Directors and Government Officers on behalf of the South Indian Actors Association.
2) The approval of the Council is sought for all the resolutions passed by the Executive Committee members in all the Executive Committee meetings held from 13.10.2024 to 21.09.2025.
3) The approval of the Council is sought for the Annual Report 2024-25 and the Audited Income and Expenditure Statement for the year 2024-2025.
4) The approval of the Council is sought to appoint Mr. Krishna Ravindran as the Association Legal Advisor for the year 2025-2026 in the South Indian Actors Association.
5) The approval of the Council is sought to appoint Mr. Sriram Sundar, SRNR & Associates as the Association Auditor for the year 2025-2026 in the South Indian Actors Association.
6) In case the positions of the elected Executive Committee members become vacant, the Executive Committee may select the necessary persons from the General Assembly for those positions, based on the Association Act No. 58, since the positions of the four members of the Association Executive Committee currently need to be filled, the approval of the Council is sought to elect the following four members (1. 2. 3. 4.) as the Association Executive Committee members.
7) The approval of the Council is sought to convert professional members who have completed 25 years of service in our association into life members as per the prevailing practice.
- A resolution is passed with the approval of the Council to request the Tamil Nadu government to provide a board member position to represent differently-abled artists in the Tamil Nadu Film Industry Welfare Boards.
9) If the persons who post false, misleading and defamatory information about our association and its members on social media are members of our association, strict disciplinary action will be taken against them as per the rules of the association and if other persons who are not members of the association engage in such a despicable act, the approval of the Council is sought to empower the association management committee to take legal action against them through the police.
10) In the last 67th General Assembly, a resolution was passed to obtain a loan of up to Rs. 40 crore from the bank for the construction of the new association building. At present, the bank loan amount has been obtained for only Rs. 25 crore and the interest on that amount is being paid without any arrears. At present, an additional Rs. 10 crore is required to create a design with modern technologies in the infrastructure of the building. It is worth noting that this is Rs. 5 crore less than the loan amount approved earlier. The approval of the Council is sought to obtain an additional loan from the bank for the Rs. 10 crore currently required.
11) The approval of the Council is sought to grant permission to the Association Executive Committee to give special names to the art gallery, wedding hall, wedding palace and other areas that are being formed in the new building of our association, based on the consultation and consideration of the Executive Committee.
12) The approval of the Council is sought to give full authority to the Executive Committee of the Association to decide on the appropriate arrangements for the inauguration of our Association’s new Association building and to implement them.
13) The approval of the Council is sought to give full authority to the Executive Committee of the Association to decide on the appropriate actions to repay the loan taken from the bank for the construction of our Association’s new Association building and to implement them.
14) The Council is requested to shift the office of our Association and the Actors’ Association Foundation, which are currently operating in the Nanda Apartment Complex, to the new Association building in due course.

15) The approval of the Council is sought to authorize the Executive Committee of the Association to consider and decide on the application received from the ‘Natural’ Beauty and Wellness Center for space on a monthly rental basis to operate in the office area on the fourth floor of our Association’s new Association building.
16) The approval of the Assembly is sought to empower the Executive Committee to take appropriate decisions from time to time and implement all activities related to our association, including taking decisions regarding administrative activities related to our association, building construction works, fundraising activities, taking decisions regarding cases related to the Nadigar Sangam and Nadigar Sangam Trust, acting as a representative by signing court documents for the protection of the association, taking steps to amend the association and trust rules in accordance with the legal provisions and entering into agreements with other organizations necessary for the welfare and development of the association members.
